2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Lindsey Buckingham - "Seeds We Sow" (2011)

My wife is playing this in the other room.

Ray LaMontagne - "Gossip In The Grain" (2008)

Will Hoge - "Draw The Curtain" (2007)

On vinyl.
A study in liquidity and flow:

Fontessa was MJQ's first album released on Atlantic Records 60 years ago.

2016 - Tidal...
Leaving aside the album, that's one hell of a photo.
Mike, the artwork is by a chap called Frank Maddocks and he's been responsible for quite a few album covers. Google him and you'll see what I mean.
I don't think the music is your cup of tea though. Just in the mood for something a little "punchier" tonight.
Thanks Tony. You've piqued my interest and I'll look him up.
My personal favorite by the Deftones is the White Pony. I'm not a big fan of the new one Not bad just meh.
I agree. Around the Fur is also a great album. Although the trademark sound is still there, they lost the rawness of early years and their latest albums are far too polished.
What did you think about Crosses? I had high hopes for it but it feel short of expectations.

The Marshall Tucker Band. Carolina Dreams. On Capricorn Records vinyl from 1977. Good southern rock.

Wings Over America. 3LP Japanese release from 1976. Far better SQ than the US pressing. Greater clarity and a welcome reduction of the overbearing, muddied bass.

2 (waag_rel089), more ambient electronica from Cousin Silas and a couple of his regular collaborators.

One of my favourite John Martyn albums (normally a late night favourite but getting a daylight airing today on my portable kit).
Not only great music (his cover of Portishead's 'Glory Box' is one of my faves) but a super recording too.

At home today, working my way through a mountain of paperwork.....................this playing gently in the background.............what a voice!
Perfect.

Ah, the joys of Tidal!
Ben & Ellen Harper - Childhood Home
Ben Harper - By My Side

More gentle "doing paperwork" background sounds.
Lovely.

Having a coffee break whilst running the shredder.............back to the grind, (see what I did there?), shortly. ![]()

Back to it, with this guy in the background.
Seriously good album, with atmospheric bluesy steel guitar....................highly listenable.
