What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
On CD:-

Bryan Ferry - Another Time, Another Place
Round about midnight by Miles Davis...

One of those albums where you can just sit back, close your eyes, and let the music create an atmosphere that just washes over you. Truly immersive!
Wav CD rip

Similar sentiments to MDS's post above.
Al Stewart - Year. Of The Cat - streaming from HDX - excellent album. One of those albums that I play when nothing else catches my eye
Portico Quartet - Portico Quartet
Much head nodding at the output of my newly serviced CDS3/ XPS.
C.

EP of "leftovers" from "what-a-terrible-world-what-a-beautiful-world" . 4 / 5 pretty decent tracks I'd say.
Haven't played this in a while. Sounding good.

To end the evening, staying with the Neil Cowley Trio. Tidal.

I like to give this a play now and again, not least because it was my very first album.
Mike, You'll be telling us next that you can remember the bottom end of Commercial Road before the Tricorn was built!
Best, C.
I don't remember the Tricorn but are we talking Commercial Road in Portsmouth? I lived in Pompey until 1967 when I was 13. I remember a department store called The Landport (LDB). I bought 'Rubber Soul' and the EP version of Donovan's 'Universal Soldier' there way back in 1965. I don't know what happened to the Donovan EP but I still have that copy of 'Rubber Soul'. It is a mono pressing and I prefer to the version in the recent mono vinyl box set. So much for technology!

The Australian dlx edition with the Live album added.

Yes, JazzDocNaim. That's the one. My mum worked in LDB some years later.

Albert King with SRV- In Seasion
been playing this a lot lately. Love hearing the 2 of them together and hearing just how much SRV was influenced by Albert King. Love that style of playing they have.
