2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
A random pick from the shelves. On double vinyl.

The best-sounding (so far) of the 2016 Guthrie-Grundman-Plante vinyl remasters:

A beautiful collection of early German sacred music performed by countertenor Andreas Scholl. Used copies are offered on Amazon for 1C!
Gighly recommended.

The Quest: Mal Waldron
Haskil/Grumiaux: Mozart Sonatas
Zuckerzeit: Cluster
all on 33 1/3:-)

Why? Because....well just have a listen and you will know why.

I'm listening but it's in the car on the way to the lake for possibly the last time this summer. It's not all bad since I have an Alpine deck, Focal speakers and JL Audio sub and amplification.

Nothing to do with the current England test match I just fancied some old Wishbone Ash.

Quite a few listens to this recently. Very pleasant indeed. Tidal.

This is a lovely album: kora and harp.

Great energy in this 1987 recording. Any fan of the J Geils Band should have this in their collection ..

Imogen Cooper's quirky yet utterly convincing way with Schumann is emerging as a must-hear series; the Steinway is exceptionally well recorded, rich and not too close.
cheers, EJ
Robin Trower - Passion
I haven’t played this for a few years, forgot how good it is. Not like his early stuff, more commercial with an 80’s style, it’s from the 80’s.
Not a weak song on it, with great vocals from Davie Pattison

Because I fancied a bit of a thrash and this one will do for now. RIP Lemmy.
