2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

On vinyl.

Jackson Browne. I'm Alive. On CD from 1993. I've had this album for less than a year, but each listen has me thinking that it's really on par with his 1970's albums - very easy to appreciate.

Thanks for that observation Randy I never bothered much with his music after the early 80's so it will be good to try this, unfortunately not on Tidal though as it would seem he doesn't let his work be used there.
Steve

The Beatles. Magical Mystery Tour (1967). From the 2009 stereo remaster set. Easily trumps my Capitol Records re-channelized stereo vinyl. Still, an album probably best heard in mono.

Steve,
Like you I wasn't overly enthralled with JB's 80's albums - too commercial sounding. "I'm Alive" used CD goes for pennies + postage so hope you'll find it worth a punt. Cheers.

Riley Walker. Primrose Green.

Plus a couple of tracks from his upcoming new album available on Tidal.

Steve - a lot of JB's backcatalogue is on Tidal. I've been recently sampling following Joerand's recommendations. I particularly enjoy this one.

Many thanks Nick, when I was searching on Tidal early this morning I was still half asleep and had typed his surname without the "e" on the end - hence no albums!! I now see the back catalogue and will give your's and Randy's recommendations a go.

not my usual but it does give the speakers a nice workout.

Cool and classic.

Lovely stuff ...
On CD:-

Early rough and ready Hooker.

Now playing.

2016 - Tidal...
The Comet is Coming. Debut album of a very creative trio. Good luck to them trying to beat the likes of Radiohead and Bowie for best album at the Mecury's.

Mo' blues, with a hint of Stax soul mixed in................recommended.

Staying with the blues.............West Coast blues................hints of the Paul Butterfield Band of old.
