Tidal

(1995)

From the promotional blurb: "Illuminations is the seventeenth studio album from rock band Wishbone Ash recorded in 1995. It features a brand new version of the band with founding member Andy Powell along with new members Tony Kishman, Roger Filgate, and Mike Sturgis. It was the first Wishbone Ash studio album since Strange Affair five years earlier."

Justin Adams and Juldeh Camara, together with others from Robert Plant's Sensational Space Shifters.................high energy African / trance / dub.

I've posted this before, but if you liked any of Planty's last few albums, you'll love this one from the core of that band...............go on, Tidalise it, I bet you'll love it!

Appreciate the post. Sampled it online. Good stuff as you say. Plant does well to take the sound to the mainstream while adding a Celtic bend.

Hi joerand,

Glad you liked my original recommendation. Here's another three from these guys, similar, and worth sampling to see what you think.

I agree that Planty is to be commended for continuing to push his boundaries into fresh and interesting areas, rather than the easy option of flogging the Zep cash cow.

Saw them live in Leeds, during the "Lullaby and ....The Ceaseless Roar" tour, and the two or three Zep classics which they did play were taken to a whole new plateau.

The intros were greeted by a welcoming roar from the crowd, followed  by grins of appreciation all round at how "new" yet familiar your old favourites could sound.

Enjoy.

2016 - And their latest offering, the forthcoming EP, with vocals from the wonderful Hope Sandoval(Mazzy Star) and a very weird video with Cate Blanchett.

(1997)

Just in the mood for some of this trance rock, its working well via the cans with the test match on screen...

I think this ages really well sounding fresh although (unbelievably!) from 1979.

Finally got round to finishing adding embedded artwork for all my CD rips and came across this which I haven't played in ages.  Very enjoyable.

Haven't played this since I acquired my current main system.  Magnificent.  CD rip.

Thanks Graeme, this one has a somehow similar cover theme, but with a very different perspective:

Very powerful, but open sound.

Junior Wells 'Come on in this House' ...a very fine album from 1996 and a text book recording.

Choice inspired by the earlier Christian Scott album (or, that should read the other way round - rather obviously).
