2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
Fu Manchu-California Crossing

Pianist Enrico Pieranunzi, in a trio with bassist Marc Johnson and drummer Joey Baron, explores ten songs from movies scored by Italian film composer Ennio Morricone. While none of the pieces are standards, the ten that were chosen are each easily adaptable to jazz.

Something soothing with my first coffee.
A bit a dark sound - but still kind of unbelievable...

Nice...

Ocean Colour Scene - Mechanical Wonder
Opened a couple of doors so I can have the multi-room experience, in the bath.

Remembering seeing them at Newcastle City Hall in '77 (on a school trip ! - those were the days). Supported by John Peel's favourite pub rock band at the time - The Motors.

A bit of Sibelius today
A golden oldie from Sir Roderick .....

The Who by Numbers - original vinyl.
This album has had a hard life. I bought it when I had a BSR turntable and there was one highly modulated part of the first track on side one which would not track, despite having blu-tacked a 50p piece (the old, heavy ones) to the headshell. Still, it tracks just fine now and sounds remarkably clean, albeit on a turntable which, in cash terms, cost way more than your average family home at the time this album came out!!

And now for something rather sublime:

John Paul White entitled Beulah (ex Civil Wars)

The Who- Who's Next ( DeLuxeEdition )

Ah this brings back the memories - Street Life blasting out on the stereo before a night out on the town with the boys. The album would always put me in the right mood. ![]()
