2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
And now playing the second disc from this 50th anniversary set of Miles' KoB. These recordings were also released on Miles '58, but I think the SQ on the anniversary set trumps it.

Suzanne Vega, Suzanne Vega, something chilled whilst I work from home. One of my very first CDs and still a fave today. Flac via Audirvana/hugo

What's to be debated? Sounds like a bargain, but all depends on the source I guess.
I am a weak man - unfortunately I downloaded the 24/96 version in error (Doh ...) so having to redo, which takes an age with the low broadband speed here (& children hogging the bandwidth with Netflix etc.)
. Still - the "lower res" version is sounding pretty damn good meantime.
Wet and windy Friday afternoon in North Yorks..................so..........

Haven't played Mr McMurty for a while. CD rip : WAV

Carrie Elkin - "Call It My Garden" (2011)

Some more sunny side up music for a grey day.

Chris Sheehan - "Goodbye Cruel Circus (I'm Off To Join The World)" (2010)

More from the master of "laid back".

Sadly not such a great CD transfer, but enjoyable music all the same.

Vinyl
Some prog from Tidal:-
Genesis - Seconds Out
Roger Waters - Amused To Death
up next
Carlos Santana & Buddy Miles. - Live
Roger again, - The Wall

The lad done good!..................ably assisted by Kim Wilson.

Corrine West & Kelly Joe Phelps - "Magnetic Skyline" (2010)

One of the most underrated bluesmen, I saw him live in the 60's, way down the running order, as part of the American Folk Blues Festival annual European tour.
He stole the show with the four or five songs he played, in the face of the better known names.
Bit idiosyncratic, but worth a Tidal blast.
Just in from work...curry ordered...yes I know it the 19th August...who cares!!!
Beer o clock and.......

Jerry Joseph & Wally Ingram - "Civility" (2010)

CD via NDS

John Hiatt - "Mystic Pinball" (2012)
John Mellencamp
Scarecrow
Now this brings back many memory's, have not played this in a very long time.

Now that i finally have the album what an album, sound quality, is simply stunning , every thing that mike-b said is spot on.
About fifteen years ago when i first bout my first series hifi ! (Cyrus dab 7 CD player & IIIi Amp) if you had said that i would be listing to Jazz music i would have said that you are crazy. Quite simply this is one of the best album i have ever heard. The quality of the band playing is stunning.
