2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
Fancied a bit of Hendrix after hearing "Burning of the Midnight Lamp" on the radio earlier. This is the Experience Hendrix/MCA vinyl reissue from 1997:

A new purchase and first listen for me following a recommendation on here. I'm only on CD1 so far and I'm very much liking this.
Electric Light Orchestra

A+ | Transcoded DSD

(2015)
Because I've been a fan of ZZ Top since they were first "invented" and this solo by BG is excellent, originally downloaded as a 24/96 FLAC. Cranked up and sounding luverly.

Yep its a goody Mike.

Kicking off this evening with a wee bit of Jock Rock.................och aye!

Destrier - Agent Fresco
2nd album from this Icelandic band, described as an amalgam of pop, metal, prog and math rock.

Death Cab For Cutie - "Plans" (2005)

Staying North of the border with some more haggis tinted rock...............the noo!
Streaming Wav My favourite Riverside album.....such an underrated band.

Early 1980s UK vinyl. Anorther of the great guitarists.

Keith Urban - "Ripcord" (2016)

Some scorching British ska from the 80's.....................one of my "Desert Island Discs".
Italian compilation from the mid-70s. The bass on this is great, emphasised by the LP12, but in a way I really like...

Wav Time for some 80s soul/funk

This has been on my 'might buy' list for a while. Seems to be well regarded, so might have to raise it to the 'must buy' list. Or even the 'bought' list!
CORRECTION: This has now made it to the bought list!
Nice one Clive B. This album may be the one your ears, and system have bean missing for years. I remember listening to "School days". Not long after it was released, in my friends bedsit, through Celestion Hadleigh's, sourced by an SP25/IV Goldring G800, and and a Sinclair amp. This was my first introduction, to virtuoso electric/acoustic bass, and maybe to PRAT, before the concept was "invented".
I have most of Clarke's albums on vinyl. School Days is my favorite.

More 80's top ska tunes.

Yes, Kevin. I've got that album on CD and have enjoyed it for very many years. Man of the World has always held some magic for me.

Playing now................some of the inspiration for the 80's bands in the UK.
