In which we have now officially finished 2nd in the medal table thanks to a Mongolian wrestler. What an amazing result for Team GB.
And now for the Vuelta.

Fantastic concert which I hoped would never end.
Truly emotional and I was in tears at the end with the thought this maybe the last time we ever see Gordie on stage. The courage he showed throughout the whole tour was amazing.
Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam even mentioned Gordie fight with uncurable Brain Cancer and The Hips final gig during their concert in Chicago last night.
Even the Canadian Prime Minister was there wearing a Hip t shirt and boogieing along with the rest of the audience.
Geofiz & Ewen thanks for the link to this concert of theirs I look forward to being able to watch it on you tube.

I believe the deal to air the concert live on the CBC network was that it would be a one time deal a cross the entire network, tv and radio and Internet, with no rebroadcast. I am sure someone will post it somewhere or at least parts will be posted. It was almost 3 hours of live commercial free broadcast from start to finish.
Definitely an event to see and am sure it will be a multi disc blue ray and cd and possibly vinyl set at some time in the future.
I am sure there were many PVRs and such recording the show.

Nice Ry n' Dry recording this.

Wav

A commonly less well regarded TC album but I really like the ethereal haunting quality on some tracks.
Sounds first class too.

Kevin-W posted:Fancied a bit of Hendrix after hearing "Burning of the Midnight Lamp" on the radio earlier. This is the Experience Hendrix/MCA vinyl reissue from 1997:
I'll join you on that one, Kevin, only 22 hours later. Mine is from the 1980 box set released on the 10th anniversary of his death. I don't think I've played this more than a few times at the most. That's the trouble with large box sets which don't need to be played as a collective whole. I must have played 'In the West' most frequently. That having been said, this 'Band of Gypsys' is rather enjoyable.

A Master copy of some of the recordings for the album with an unreleased track which wouldn't have been out of place on the album.

Why? Well I could bang on about the musicianship of the band or Van's soulful, bluesy voice or the wonderful live recording, but at the end of the day it's because this makes my head nod, my feet tap and makes me happy. Nuff said.

A Dream In Static by Earthside
My first go at this debut album and I'm enjoying it a lot. Progressive metal, melodic in style with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra aiding and abetting. Thanks to whoever it was on the forum that flagged it up.
On Riverside vinyl:

Why? I have been assisting in looking after a 3 year old with chicken pox since yesterday pm and I need something to relax to.
