That always "difficult" second album, this is simply stunning..................shame Eno left after this one...............never bettered, IMHO.

Agreed this was Roxy's best effort, and I too was disappointed to see Eno leave. But he did go on to have quite an impressive career afterwards, starting with fun, quirky gem...

Seeing German, first lady of leather in the comments, Doro obviously sprung to mind.

Some top notch tracks on this album.

Cracking album, especially a fan of the anthemic "All we are"..... gonna bung that on right now!

Mike,

You’re wrong there and a great video, they made some great anthems, must be a German thing, the Scorpions where masters of the rock anthem.

My favourites tracks are “Burning the Witches and “Without You”

There’s some good quality footage on youtube from a concert at the Camden Palace in 1985.

(1977)

Recorded live at the Dominion Theatre Tottenham Court Road in London, this '95 remaster is a nice way to start the day.

Beck. Mutations. On CD from 1998. Great album. Mostly wistful, lazy paced music - quite juxtaposed to the former "Odelay" and maybe a precursor to "Sea Change". I can't help but think Beck was influenced by Donovan on several tracks, especially Tropicalia.

Because its one of BOC's finest and I haven't listened to it in a while.

This 1965 release is an interesting album for all sorts of reasons:

Aretha trying to finding her voice and style but the label Columbia couldn't decide if she was a show tune singer, jazz or r&b.

The fake live jazz nightclub audience talking over the tracks which imo adds nothing to the album.

A fantastic studio band Teddy Harris, piano / Kenny Burrell, guitar / James “Beans” Richardson, bass / Hindel Butts, drums.

The track “Without The One You Love” to let you hear just what a singer Aretha would become.

Aretha at he most jazzy ever.

Pure Pleasure Records Reissue as usual with PPR excellent SQ.

It's been a long time since I have listened to any Jackson Browne album released after 1980, thanks Randy and others for urging me to give this one a go I've enjoyed it.

This one remastered in '97 and none the worse for it, a fine early era Tull album.

When you get a chance Stevee you may like to try this one - it has a really luscious bass sound - particularly the track Yeah Yeah.

Thanks Nick I think that I have noticed you playing this one before, I have put it into my Tidal "to try list".

What a fine (underrated) album this is. I bought this immediately after seeing Todd and Utopia supporting Led Zeppelin at Knebworth.

Why? It's my favourite MJQ album and it took years to find a vinyl copy in 1990s.
