2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Helicon Ensemble - "Tafelmusik - Baroque Favorites" disc 1
Tidal Dead End Kings by Katatonia.... first play for me and loving this album so much so Ive just ordered a the cd. Prog metal at it`s best.

The Sound of the City compiled by the late Charlie Gillett. This roughly chronologically ordered 5 volume CD set takes you through rock, blues, soul and just about everything else worth listening to in the latter half of the 20th century City by City. The only downside is that it's out of print.

Chicago Pro Musica - "The Medinah Sessions" disc 1

Seen so many recommendations on here for this one, just had to try it.
Streaming now on Tidal, first listen...........................a bit good innit?
Very good indeed and even better when you hear the band play it live.

I've just had a look, and I see they're up my neck of t'woods at the end of October.......will look into it tomorrow.

Ending this evening with one of Daptone's finest, the excellent Mr Bradley, who's success has been long overdue.

Pacific Symphony Orchestra - "Respighi: Church Windows, Poema Autunnale"

It's been a long time since I have listened to any Jackson Browne album released after 1980, thanks Randy and others for urging me to give this one a go I've enjoyed it.
Last night I ripped a dozen CDs to my laptop to enjoy while travelling and this was among them. Great album.
A+ | Transcoded DSD

(1997)
Toby Marks with his individual style of electronica seemed like a good place to start today.

"Engineers transcend shoegazing and approach the heights of Spiritualized at their space-rocking best. We need these guys around." * * * * The Sunday Times
DSD file, a great album. Trevor Horn at his best.

1992 - WAV...
I always enjoy this alum despite his disastrous attempt at Bossa Nova on "Signe". Stick to blues, Eric!
Alberta and San Francisco Bay Blues always bright up my day.

Vinyl - Love - I left my heart in San Fransisco

2014 - Vinyl...
Sounds as fresh as the day it was released.
