Yet another one that left us far too early.
Oh well, in that case.
Quick edit.........still with us. ![]()

Alexi Murdoch - "Time Without Consequence" (2000)
A+ | Transcoded DSD

(1999)
Metallica S & M
Sacrilegious I know but this became my favourite Metallica album almost twenty years ago. The wonderful combination of the San Fransisco Symphony the band and Michael Kamen (conductor) who conceived and got the whole thing together works incredibly well. ![]()

Having realised that recently when I've been reaching for Mary Black albums I've been going for the old stuff this evening I thought I should go for a more recent one. Some nice song on here e.g. Mountains To The Sea.

Swooping in with this one before the end of Friday night blues hour.
Really takes me back to the time when I had to specially order many of these on the old Chess / Pye R 'n B label............(so last Century).........happy days. ![]()

On vinyl...
Had this one streaming on my phone, a great album which I can recommend for people who like melodic chamber jazz.....
I just bought it myself by the way...

Followed by...

Porcupine Tree - Stupid Dream, on vinyl...
BBC 4 Proms Mozart clarinet concerto & Mozart Requium ....... perfect music ....serene ..ethereal.
Bob F

1994 - Original vinyl...
Although I have a soft spot for Paul's Boutique, this is their best album in my humble opinion. Not a single bad track. Make sure you listen to it at a very (un)reasonable volume especially Sabotage.![]()

I love this album. Although Mary's voice has aged a bit, I still think this is up there with the best she's ever done.
This for obvious reasons could have been one of many.

RIP Rudy Van Gelder.

Yes, Tony. It is better than some of her more recent albums. I also agree about her voice ageing a bit. I saw her live at Guildford last year - a long held ambition finally fulfilled of seeing her live - and while I very much enjoyed the concert I couldn't help but notice that her voice didn't have the power that I have become used to on her albums. Perhaps that's why she's not touring any more.

From one lady with an enchanting voice (Mary Black) to another - the lovely Melody G.
Now for Mr Happy!

Ending this evening on a gentler note.................brilliant harmonies from these blue eyed soul boys.

Haydn's op. 50 set of six isn't as famous as the sets that came before or after, but as played by The London Haydn Quartet, every bit as good. The performances are somewhat intimate, but very colourful in style, and really open up after multiple listens.
cheers,

1996 - Tidal...
Missed it first time around . Not as subtle as Core but still very much STP.
because it's ... well, after hours
This is a pretty packaged set and after listening to a couple of CDs I find SQ very good.
