Super 70s style hard rock from this very tight modern German band.

Seal's second album and in my view an excellent follow-up to his stunning debt album

Lovely to see her being played here Erich, she was a heartthrob of mine when I was living and working in Cairo in the late 70s.

Maybe we are from the same era but I've never been in Cairo. Actualy she was born in Cairo as Yolanda Cristina Gigliotti.

Onto my new copy of Blood on The Tracks, the vinyl MOFI release. My original copy was accidently sent to me by a record club I was in as I forgot to send the card back saying I did not want this record of the month. Listened to it and was hooked on Dylan. Still my favourite Dylan album and a contender for my favourite album ever.

This sound really good as have all the MOFI Dylan releases.

Down-Down II

more southern rock

Had this one earlier this afternoon. Another concept album of this progressive rock / art rock band from Germany. I am still amazed that they didn't have the fame of some off the other bands in the genre, there music and lyrics and concepts are definitely on a high level. This album, not their best effort is another fine testimony of their good music....

If you are interested or intrigued by my test have an initial listen into their best album Posthumous Silence in full. It's one of the best progressive rock albums ever.....

Had a listen to one of the great albums of the rock history. With my mobile setup of Sony NW-ZX2 and Shure SE 846 you can really enjoy the high resolution audio version of this album.

2014 - Tidal Deluxe...

Although I have the original, there is something really rather fascinating listening to No Quarter Percy's voice on this Deluxe version of this release. Poignant and harrowing along with The Rain Song, it reflects the mood of the band during that period before the tragic passing of Plant's son, pictured on the cover.  JPJ  playing is just sublime.

After yesterday's progfest, time for something calmer and more introspective.

This just the ticket.

Onto disc two of two, this is actually a very nice collection which has their hits but also focuses strongly on their more bluesy numbers, decent SQ too.

With a live version of on of the best progressive rock albums in history and a lot of bonus songs.....

Full-fat Qobuz download.

Discovered the limitations of wifi streaming though, as the 192kHz version will only play over wired Ethernet whereas 96kHz plays fine over wifi.  May have to drill some holes when the coast is clear

An old favorite:

Misa Criolla was one of the first masses not in Latin shortly after the Second Vatican Council permitted use of the vernacular in Catholic churches. The Misa - a mass for either male or female soloists, chorus, and orchestra - is based on folk genres such as chacarera, carnavalito, and estilo pampeano, with Andean influences and instruments. Ramírez wrote the piece from 1963 to 1964, and it was recorded in 1965.
