What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

I recently saw Stuart McCallum at WOMAD, firstly solo in the B&W tent, but again later with the excellent The Breath. Worth checking out.
I thought I would listen to two tributes after each other.....

This one wins, while the James one is also enjoyable....

If Corbyn ever makes to the top job this will be number one in the charts. God helps us either way.

I always felt this was a poor album with which to finish off recording together, sadly far from their earlier and better albums.

Kevin-W posted:dayjay posted:The first tour I saw them on Kevin, they were awesome. At the time I disliked the album intensely as it was just so different from what went before it. I love it now and Losing It is one of my favourite ever tracks
I first saw them in '79 on the Hemispheres tour, David, then again in 1980. I have to say that they largely lost me after Signals, although there are some bits of GUP and Power Windows I quite like.
We first saw them on the Hemispheres tour, this was the first RUSH album I ever heard and was immediately hooked. I like all of their albums, some more than others, eventually I even started to enjoy Vapour Trails.
Drone-rock on CD. Great group name, even better album title and a cover which uses a painting by the great Joseph Wright of Derby. What's not to like?

No particular reason other than to kick back on this lovely late afternoon and listen to Jim Morrison's voice on what was to be his last album with Doors, this one downloaded a few years ago from Qobuz in 24/96.

Those were the Tidal and Spotify of those days, Steve.![]()
There is something melancholic going through these old compilations. The days when we used to look forward to buying the latest issue of our favourite magazine to find out what was new, cool or groovy. ![]()

I'm good Graham. Yes, I think I remember you posting this album sometime ago and also some original Island vinyl compilation which I'm pretty sure I have a copy somewhere. Great stuff!
Hope you're well.

Because Chris could certainly play that acoustic guitar and belt out a choon before he was tragically struck down with lung cancer.
RIP Chris.
