I don't remember the last time I listened to this album. Part of my early pop/rock history tour.

Just past 1 AM UK time, mind is sparking like a lighting storm in a plasma ball, I need something to ring it down. Job done

From 1978: Locking Horns

This album has a somewhat unlikely matchup. While Willis "Gator" Jackson's roots are in honking and screaming R&B, and he later became a top-notch soul-jazz player, Von Freeman's unusual tone and exploratory style resulted in him being associated with the avant-garde and post-bop. However, this encounter works well. With organist Carl Wilson, guitarist Joe "Boogaloo" Jones and drummer Yusef Ali giving strong support, the two tenors challenge each other, romp on "Pow!" and "Willis and Von," and show off their highly original sounds on individual features.

Kansas. Super Hits. On CD from 2007. It's a nice compilation of the band's better tracks but there's absolutely nothing super about the SQ. Looks like the boys were having a big hair contest on the cover shot.

The Drifters. All-Time Greatest Hits. On CD from 2000. Truly enchanting music from a bygone era. The Drifter's music was a fantastic combination of vocal talents, orchestrations, and quality production with a vintage warmth to the SQ. I don't suppose anyone will ever make music like this again.
