2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
All-acoustic live Dead set from 1981 - great sound quality!

Dave Matthews Band - "Crash" (1996) I will listen to the whole album, but be patiently waiting for the last track - Proudest Monkey. Good stuff, all of it.

Echo & The Bunnymen. Because I know all the words. On vinyl.

Body Count's in da house. I remember picking that up when it was released. Lol. I'm not sure why but I did.

David Gray - "Foundling" (2010) disc 1

John Mayer - "Heavier Things" (2003) been far too long since I listened to this.

Coldplay - "Parachutes" (2000)
Next:

Norah Jones - "The Fall" (2009) I hate the cover but it is my favorite album of hers.

Arctic Monkeys-Humbug
produced by Josh Homme. Who knew?

My wife and kids are out for a bit, so indulging in a bit of NC&TBS this evening.

We saw Laura with Neko Case and K.D. Lang a few months back. Outstanding.

Led Zeppelin. Physical Graffiti (1975). On 2CD from the 1993 Complete Studio Recordings box set. A nice cold, hard slap of blues-driven rock. Something to get the blood flowing.

Daniele Gatti's new post as chief of the Concertgebouw will be made official tonight, with a varied program including Mahler's Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen (with Gerhaher) and Respighi's Fontane di Roma (a sonic spectacular). This new recording of the Symphonie Fantastique was taped at three concerts in March/April this year. Broadcasts have been available for free for a while, but RCO Live now presents a cleaned up edition, with all applause and most audience noise edited out, and of course a sound quality that goes far beyond what youtube has to offer. As a performance, its unusually broad in conception, with a 'singery' quality I haven't heard in Amsterdam before and would attribute to Gatti. I very much look forward to his posting here, after a disappointingly grey period with Jansons (personal view - not shared by many).
Cheers,
EJ
First real listening...

1st round...

Fascinating two-CD documentary set, issued for Auntie's 75th birthday in 1997:

In memory of a true originator..............................enjoy yourself.
RIP.

Just arrived. On vinyl...
Beautifully dark. A heartfelt tribute to his son.

Another one from the King of Ska................................followed by some from a couple of bands for whom he was hugely influential.
RIP.
