2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
Late Friday night chillout jazz from a fine group of master session players

Joe Henry - "Kindness Of The World" (1999)

Scrap that last one.

After listening to this , you friends will not know you any more ".

Michael Stanley - "American Road" (2005)

On his third date for Blue Note within a year, Wayne Shorter changed the bands that played on both Night Dreamer and Juju and came up with not only another winner, but also managed to give critics and jazz fans a different look at him as a saxophonist as well as a composer.Released fifty years ago.
Queens of the Stone Age-Songs for the Deaf
Really good late 70s prog-rock/fusion...

John Mellencamp. Trouble No More. On CD from 2003. I posted this one recently as a first listen. It's struck quite a chord with me and has been getting lots of listens in my room. Highly recommended whether a big Mellencamp fan or a newcomer. Despite being an all covers album, provides a nice insight into the essence of Mellencamp's artistry.
Missed out on this one, having a listen and most probably will buy it...

I had totally forgotten that this was co-produced with Dave Stewart (Eurythmics).
Dan Arborise - Of Tide & Trail
Third time in thirteen hours. Soemone said it would be like this.
The only thing that's dicking me off is the ampersand.

Classic 1970s comedy on a Saturday morning before the football. What could be more appropriate? Vinyl:

First play of the new Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds album
Just before exploring some new musical fields...

The new one sounds pretty good, now in the middle of it...

A bit of bombast for a nice Saturday morning.

Tidal - recent new release.

the Best of James Taylor - streaming. Not one of my favourite artists but this album became feel good music while I worked in Rio. Brings back some great memories!

Had also a short dip into this one. A totally ignored artist for me, and most probably something I should revise....
