Michael Marra - On Stolen Stationary; CD rip on US.

Excellent singer/songwriter (now deceased), I had forgotten how good he was.

aside - I am guessing that you post pictures of the album art?I don't know for sure since according to my screenreader you are making empty posts

Ewen - I remember  seeing him on this tour in Champaign Illinois late '86 - a great show if my now hazy memory is correct.

“All of the hype paid off. Peter Gabriel’s two-hour performance Saturday night in front of nearly 12,000 concertgoers at Assembly Hall was just what had been eagerly awaited – a visual showcase of art rock encompassing everything from the rhythm of Motown to the tribal beat of Africa.”

– Steve Park, The Daily Illini, 17 November 1986

Only seen him and that was when he was still with Genisis and they were the support act.

Cream - Wheels Of Fire On CD

Posted on: 17 September 2016 by Nigel 66

Love Robert Palmer's early work. Shame that the production/sound quality wasn't very good.

On vinyl.  Classic GBV.

First playing of the new vinyl release of The Wall. Sounds really good. Never managed to get an original copy that didn't pop and click all the time. So far (half way through side 2) this one is silent. Let's the music flow as no distraction. The quality of the music goes without saying, but most impressed by this re-issue.

I found this needs many listens to appreciate. But it is worth it! The Raven is more accessible yet still a very very good progressive rock album, with some exceptional guitar playing from Guthrie Govan.

A+ | Transcoded DSD

(2000)

A much underrated 'Tops album IMO, their cover /homage to Elvis Presley's (Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear is well worth the entry fee.

2016 - Tidal... First listen and pretty sure last.

Winner 2016 Mercury Prize. I don't know what the fuzz is all about.

Apparently this is the "in" thing at the moment , called Grime. It sounds like old fashion Hip Hop as far as I can tell.

I am very open minded when it comes to music but this does not make me go " wow". Not saying Bowie or Radiohead should have won it and I would rather see it go to new talent but this time I'm not so sure.

NWA  were doing this 5hit 20 years ago...

Getting old, methinks!

Yeah, the Mercury is not for you, grandad. Nor is it for me either. I tried the album, and while the sentiment is great it doesn't work for me. But he's not writing for 55 year olds. My 18 year old son loves it. I'd have been horrified when I was 18 if my dad had liked The Stranglers. As it should be.

This is just perfect with a glass of Cheverny while we cook dinner, multirooming in the sitting room and on the Qb in the kitchen.
