Soen, Tellurian. Loved it from the first listen and it just gets better every time.

Riverside, Shrine Of New Generation Slaves. One of the the best prog bands? Probably.

1978 UK 7-track LP, including the classic 'Gangster Of Love'.

A+ | Transcoded DSD

(2014)

Good music to sit back and relax to, a variety of well played  instruments used in interesting well crafted catchy tunes.

"Canadians sometimes do Americana better than Americans. Think The Sadies, Cowboy Junkies, The Tragically Hip circa "Wheat Kings" and of course giants like the Band and Neil Young. Montreal's Barr Brothers are firmly in this tradition." - Extract from an Amazonian's comment

This album has some really excellent versions of some of RLJ's best songs, a super record.

Posted on: 22 September 2016 by james n

Not played any RLJ for ages so inspired by HH above, giving this one a spin (and have Naked Songs winging its way over from the States for the bargain price of £3.70 as that's one i don't have)

Posted on: 22 September 2016 by hungryhalibut

James, do you have 'Pop, Pop'? It's fantastic.

Posted on: 22 September 2016 by james n

I do. Great album. Loaded all my RLJ albums onto my Sony to take to work tomorrow as i'd forgotten how good she is.

Lunatic Soul, Walking on a Flashlight Beam. What can I say other than it is Wonderful.

First play after hearing 'The Mighty Rio Grande' on Guy Garveys show at the weekend. Rather good so far.

Now here's something I bet very few people have heard. La Cucina released a few albums of Latin jazz dance music that are really good fun. We saw them live at Portsmouth's Wedgewood Rooms many years ago and had a wonderful night. Rather than playing jazz and chamber music all the time, I'm digging out some stuff I've not played for years, and very good it is too.

Why? Being a big fan of the Fish era, I wanted to know what the new material sounded like. And it's good.
