2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.

pursuing my PG listening sessions started earlier this week !!
What do you think of the remastering Eric?
I really enjoy the dynamics and the more depth compared to the original (?) vinyl copy I own; I find the sound of the latest "flat" compared to the remaster. Nevertheless, I am pretty sure that it's although a matter of personal preference. By the way I enjoy to go through "Waiting for the big one" to perform my listening comparison.
I although have a CD copy I barely listened to (to dry !!) ;

Gregory Porter - 'Liquid Spirit', which is rather pleasant on a Thursday evening whilst drinking coffee after dinner.

Peter Gabriel Passion new 24 bit recording
on vinyl, just epic!

Many thanks Eric, from what you have experienced it would seem that this one is worth downloading.

Before listened to this, good but not exciting...

Last one of the evening - first real run...

Neil Young - Unplugged
Great live album On CD
Just a little bit of Shelby before bed - such a gorgeous album.

Very true and such a shame that Steve won't release the album. It's a bit like Back in 72 by Bob Seger, great album that will probably never see the light of day officially.
Luckily I have cd copies of both titles.
Thin Lizzy, Jailbreak, their best album imho and a classic too. Not played it for a few weeks so thought I would indulge. Flac via Audirvana/Hugo

1973 - Live double vinyl...
Excellent SQ like most Japanese live recording of that era. Thinking about it, very few live Japanese albums have a bad pressing or SQ. Dylan at Budokan is one of them.

One of my regular doses of this stunning album.
Don't know about you but I tend to 'ration' my listening of those albums I really like for fear of becoming bored or over-familiar with them. But the more I listen to Ms. Gardot, the more I appreciate and enjoy her talents. Still, don't want to get complacent, so one listen a day should be OK. Shouldn't it?

Milcho Leviev (piano) & Dave Holland (bass). Album is currently out of print.

"Recall The Beginning ..." one of my favorite 'obscure' vinyl listens, as well as Miller's "Sailor". Happy to have early pressings of both. Funny you mention Seger in a similar vein as I've thought the same. Would love to see vinyl re-issues of Seger's early albums like "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man" and "Smokin' O.P.'s".

Brandi Carlile. Bear Creek. On CD from 2012. Tough to fit Brandi within a particular genre. She can do folk, rock, alternative country, and Americana - at times it seems all within the same song, certainly within any of her albums. Few contemporary female artists grab my attention these days, but Brandi's commanding vocals and original songwriting with the Hanseroth twins are a breathe of fresh air.
Very enjoyable for a workout...
