2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Possibly a little early in the day to be partaking of the Ozrics but their style was in my head.
Nice and gentle...

It only took me 20 years to recognise the band on the cover...
I feel strange when i think it's 35 years old.......
Starting the day at 120BPM
HH reminded me of this album last night. I'd forgotten what a superb album it is (both in music and production) so it's getting an outing this morning on my portable rig.

That's got me playing the other covers album, which is equally good.

Thanks Nigel - another one just ordered !

1971 - Original vinyl...
Sunny morning and it's a bloody good album.![]()
The variety of musical styles in Beck's discography means there's always something to suit my mood in my collection.
The mellow 'Morning Phase' will do nicely

Mary Lattimore - Folkadelphia Session 03/19/2016
Downloaded from Bandcamp in 24/44.1 gentle musical experimentation with harp improvisation at its core supported by laptop generated effects. Not something that I would buy but its certainly different, thanks for the heads up Nick.
Back to a well played old favourite and, IMHO, still their best work so far

Yep, this is my favourite of theirs too.

2011- Tidal...
Found this by chance. I always enjoy Danger Mouse's work and this collaboration does not disappoint and not even Norah has managed to spoil it. Great stuff.

Prompted to play this classic album after Raider's post a couple of days ago. Sounding very good as a Sony Legacy (2012?) remaster.

Basia Bulat - "Tall Tall Shadow" (2013)
I've not really been a fan of the Stones. I was always more impressed by The Who. But I've just given this a clean on the Okki Nokki and it's rather enjoyable on a nice sunny afternoon at the end of September.

A bit of gentle pop to kick off with, on a sunny Friday afternoon.

The merits of this album are more due to the additional personnel used than Stones themselves – hard to imagine this album without Nicky Hopkins and Billy Preston.
As a side note Huey Morgan's version of the Heartbreaker is such an earworm…

Matthew Ryan - "Dear Lover (The Acoustic Version)" (2010)

Always a deliciously dirty album Clive, no matter how clean the record.
Cheers, Chris

Tarkus whet my appetite so on with some Brain Salad Surgery.

It's that man again............."always on the road"..............yet another fine live album from Joe.
This one is from his "Three Kings" tour, a tribute to B.B., Albert and Freddie................a must have for all Bonamassa fans, and a taster for the Blu Ray which should be arriving any day now.

Peter Frampton - "Peter Frampton" (2008) always a pleasure to listen to this man
Should be the colour of autumn (given where we are in the calendar) but this'll do nicely with a glass of red to aid post work relaxation. Happy weekend all ![]()
