Sometimes as good as a black box upgrade, I find. ![]()

Tarkus whet my appetite so on with some Brain Salad Surgery.
I remember when I first bought this album, opening that double flap sleeve to reveal that lady of a world long gone. Wow. You can't get that feeling with either CDs or streaming!
Long live vinyl.![]()

Long live vinyl.
I wouldn't disagree with any of that Tony
. If I hadn't had my Vinyl collections stolen on no less than three occasions (early 70s to late 80s) I might possibly be travelling a different hi-fi road these days...

That is some serious bad luck, Steve.
Don't get me wrong. I do streaming all the time and have my CD collection ripped to a NAS but there is nothing that can substitute that feeling that only vinyl can provide. Glad you know whT I mean.
PS: I have another mint copy of it and your more than welcome to it if you ever decide to rekindle your love of the old format.![]()

One of my regular doses of this stunning album.
Don't know about you but I tend to 'ration' my listening of those albums I really like for fear of becoming bored or over-familiar with them. But the more I listen to Ms. Gardot, the more I appreciate and enjoy her talents. Still, don't want to get complacent, so one listen a day should be OK. Shouldn't it?
I feel similarly, Nigel. Restricting myself to one play about every two weeks. I'm very abstemious

Signing off with the original and best.
Keef has taken over BBC 4, this evening, and all weekend...................could be interesting. ![]()

On original vinyl:

Why? I may be in Yorkshire but it' still Friday night and that's good enough for me.

Thats an extremely kind offer, thanks Tony but I gave up on vinyl after the late 80s theft eventually switching to CD via my "skeleton" cassette copies of the vinyl collection. I have to say that I do miss owning and playing the black stuff. As you suggest, vinyl album art is very much part of it, particularly when waiting to get your hands on "that new album". Unfortunately there is no way at this stage that I could think about starting a vinyl collection again from scratch let alone buying the kit to play it and go alongside the streaming. Thanks again ![]()

2001 - CD - WAV...

Ani DiFranco - Out of range

2015 - CD - WAV...
From the maniac, in the nicest possible way, behind Yello, a collection of mostly unreleased material.
only discovered this artist from Naim demo room from February bristol hi fi show
Haven't played this for a while. I prefer this to the later 'Woman + Country'. Great voice and the stripped back Rick Rubin production is the icing on the cake.
Rolling Stones - It's only Rock 'n' Roll
Now this one is seriously naughty.
C.

As I mentioned earlier, Keef has taken charge of BBC 4, for this evening, and the rest of the weekend, so, to celebrate his nostalgia fest.................this.
I join you Dave, with Keith's Cross-eyed Heart.
C.

Andreas Staier and friends in a new recording of Schubert's piano trios, on period instruments. Another highlight in what is promising to be an excellent year for recordings. 24/96 on usb.
Cheers
