2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
This isn't ECM's most interesting cover. However, fascinating and highly enjoyable music lurks within.

Leyla McCalla - A tribute to Langston Hughes

(2014) CD

That one isn't available via Tidal but I checked out some other albums and those are nice. Another good recommendation Ewemon.

A couple of albums I haven't played since they came out in 2004.

Seems suitable for lazy slow Sunday morning…

Followed by my favourite Adam Carroll album but I could have chosen any of his studio albums.
1st run haven't been that exposed to the symphonic music of Rachmaninov, while I have heard of course many times his piano concertos, intrigued...

Very pleasant start to Sunday. This has been on my Tidal favourites for a few months since Bert (I think) recommended it.
Hungryhalibut posted:I've just got this, having read an excellent review in yesterday's Guardian. A jazz album of country songs, played wonderfully as you'd expect. Lovely sound too, so far as I can make out with one non-functioning ear... It's one of those records that gets your toes tapping straight away. And what a great title, just right for me.
Having also seen the Grauniad review, I played a couple of sample tracks that were available on Tidal last week - sounded pretty good (I have a few of Mr S's CDs). I've tee'd the album up for a run later. Good prompt H.

I might have already mentioned it. But this is my favorite one, while I would also strongly recommend the PIRES one.

The unreleased Bowie album.
Luke Howard Trio - The Electric Night Descends
And moka heaven.

This is a really good album, which I bought as a used cd following a recommendation on here.

Moved on to symphony 3...

Hi, I haven't posted anything on the forum for a few weeks due to the base drive in my 25 year old "Mordaunt Short" speakers blowing, all the motivation I needed to buy some new speakers.
Eric Clapton
Complete Clapton
Listen on my new "Totem Acoustics STAFF" speakers on this Sunday morning.
Next.
Vince Gill
Guitar Slinger
Edward
John Mayer - Heavier Things
Bright blues, if there is such a thing.
