2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
I'm having a bit of a Shorter morning than usual:

And the superb 'Soothsayer' - it's hard to understand why Blue Note withheld the release of such an essential album

And not played yet, but lined up next:

Staying in the same culture...

(2012)
Something utterly musical and groovy to enjoy the start of the early afternoon with.
Time for something else, just recently also on offer in 24/192, but not sure if I switch as the original is already pretty decent in sound....

Following Tony's recommendation I thought I'd give this ago. It's good, but a bit too jazz-funk for me. It's a branch of jazz I've never been keen on. There's a very good reggae track though.

Neither playing, nor recommending this, ....................this afternoon is being spent doing a complete strip down and rebuild of Fraim and the rest..................deep joy indeed!
Hopefully, it'll be worth it, and I might be back later with positive thoughts. ![]()
Excellent celestial electronica from this German duo... Sankt Otten

A recommendation from Denis A of this parish..![]()

Smooth. A couple of great artists who not only meld very well, but in some ways are greater than the sum of their "parts" (I made a musical joke!). This should be in everyone's collection (if they're into this sort of thing).

Mindy Smith - "Long Island Shores" (2006)

Jimi Hendrix-Blues
Vinyl

Get Behind Me Satan, The White Stripes.................LOUD!
Just spent the afternoon doing a complete strip down of the system + Fraim.....................it's now all back together again, and, amazingly, I still have music. ![]()
Chris Rea - Chicago Blues from the Blue Guitars box set. Chris getting back to his blues roots. Nice music to start a Sunday afternoon listening session!

Tori Amos - "Royce Hall Auditorium, Los Angeles, CA - April 25, 2005" disc 1 (2005) this was a solo tour, The Beekeeper era
