This is sounding great. Tidal. First track is a belter. I've only got "Go Go Boots" by these guys. Should explore some more.
I can't understand how this band aren't more well known over here. They've even had to play the Manchester Academy for goodness sake. Can highly recommend Brighter Than Creation's Dark. Stunning album.

A bunch of trax off this up and coming official release.

More vinyl

An old Cam Penner album from 2008. He seems to have been around for ages Think his first album came out in about 2002.

Wicked cover. Not sure about the music!
Is it just me, or has the word "UP" been removed from that banner for some reason? I was here earlier and almost sure I saw it . Censorship? Or has the Kerning all gone wrong? Anyway, I don't think the couple pictured on the bumper got up to much that night.
Maybe I should get my medication reviewed.

My first and still my favourite Beatles album. As my system has improved more and more of the talent in the album has revealed itself.
+1. An incredibly layered and textured sound on every track. Any format or re-issue I have seems to wring out different nuances in the mix. Even a cartridge change on the same old LP or listening by HPs can bring a new appreciation. The isolated vocals on "Because" from the Love album is spine-tingling and highlights the strength of George's contribution to the Beatles' harmonies. Probably the most recognizable and iconic album cover as well. I could go on, but I'm heavily biased as my avatar indicates
This may be the single greatest album of all time! It was my first record ever.

I don't know about being "Tango'd", but I've been unable to escape all day from being Yello'd.
Any ideas?
Quite normal as Yello makes Naim sound really good.

The new Wytches album

George Harrison. Let It Roll. On CD from 2009. A solid 19 track compilation that IMO hits on the best songs of George's solo career while including three live versions of his Beatles songs. A good listen that includes a quality booklet worthy of thumbing through.

Fazil Say is one of today's creative minds on the piano, which he has proven with a stunning performance of Beethoven's 3rd concerto a while back. Now he's joined Warner with a complete set of Mozart's sonatas. I tore through this set in one sitting. While he never takes over from Mozart, Say's varied touch, rubato, pedalling, by turns sweet and aggressive colouring, and most of all rhythmic alertness (PRAT in action) are wholly persuasive. From the note in the booklet, he expresses his satisfaction with the recording, and I think he's right.
The recordings are grouped by tonal scale, small nitpick is that the Alla Turca sonata, which opens the set, is in A-major yet grouped with the a-minor sonatas. A small price to pay for not having any fancy titling such as 'The Mozart Journey'.
I already know that this is going to be my record for 2016.
Cheers,
EJ

Thats an interesting sounding genre Joe! I've found and added it in Tidal for anon thanks.
Had another listen to this one, it's good with a couple of highlights - I will get it...

As I am in the mood, going to this one...., while in complete contrast to what I am downloading.....

Segovia playing works by multitude of composers from a span of many centuries. Playing CD 2 of 2.
"Disc two is largely made up of transcriptions and it's amazing how well so many of them work on the guitar, at least under Segovia's magic fingers. Thus the transformations of Bach's violin music and even a Chopin Prelude sound idiomatic, and the gorgeous melodies of the Canzonetta from Mendelssohn's Op. 12 String Quartet are irresistible here. It's an entrancing set."
Today I went to my local store for the new Opeth and Drive by Truckers but no luck so I bought this instead (based on the recommendation on this forum) .

Now playing. As a genre this was classified as jazz – don't know about that, interesting record anyhow (so thanks for the tip).
