2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Signing off with mo' blues...............with riffs!
Original vinyl

Why? The new album reminded me to refer back to the old stuff.

Not heard this one for a while but reminded of it by the recent spate of world music posts. Singing in Urdu British born Najma charms on this collection of modernised ghazals (Persian love songs).
Zeppelin fans may recognise Najma who sang the late Sandy Denny's part in The Battle of Evermore on the Page & Plant "No Quarter" album.

(2013)
Because I have just noticed that they have a new album out in a couple of weeks. This one was a bit of a return to form for them after an iffy few years.

Marillion, F.E.A.R (F*** Everyone And Run). An album that gets better with every listen. Well worth a spin.

Then Big Big Train, Folklore, This really is a modern classic.

Lunatic Soul, I just cannot go more than a few of days with out a dose of them or Riverside. Definitely a couple of my favourite recent discovery's thanks to this forum.

Deluxe version

Chely Wright - "I Am The Rain" (2016)
Great drive in the album...

Talking about Sandy Denny led to me digging out this wonderful 3 CD collection. Not sure I'll manage to listen to it all tonight but I'll give it a good try.
Hush "The Quiet Joys of Brotherhood" is just starting.
Another blast from the past, and a really great album.

Airbag, Disconnected. I pre-ordered this so got a CD signed by the Band. I feel this is a very good addition to their catalogue.

Jerry Garcia Band - "How Sweet It Is" (1997) recorded at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco in 1990
A chilled end to the day

I adore her voice. Currently reading the recent biography 'I've Always Kept a Unicorn'. Quite a sad life; she never really enjoyed the support nor the success she deserved.
Yes a wonderful and quite powerful voice it's true. Sandy was also a talented songwriter who was sadly taken from us all too soon.
As prompted by others on here, courtesy of Tidal. So far so good
