Having enjoyed Christiane Karg's new Handel recording earlier, I thought I'd play this.

On CD:-

Bruce Springsteen  -  "Devils & Dust"  (2005)  I prefer the quieter side of Bruce, this, Tom Joad, and Nebraska

Something a bit slower before retiring after Yello's latest (and a bit of Boris Blank too) gave my PMC's a bit of a work out.

This is a real favourite of mine as some of her other albums can err too slightly on the folky side for me and i tend to pick and choose tracks off those.

Beautiful voice, beautiful woman - this is a lovely album to relax to.

Signing off for the evening with some solid blues / rock from Jeff.........................things here sounding surprisingly "unbroken", in spite of today's new releases.

A bit of 70s Magic to unwind to and what a brilliant group these were, and having the delectable Debbie on vocals didn't do any harm either

Posted on: 06 October 2016 by hungryhalibut

Wow, I didn't know you played decent music.

Just got a sneaky pre-release 24/96 WAV of this, the latest Norah Jones.  if you like her early stuff, soft jazz & piano,  this is for you.

Asia. Eponymous debut on vinyl from 1982. Years and years since I've heard Asia's music on the airwaves. Shame because it really is quality stuff with a sophistication that separated it from typical synthesizer driven pop of the time.

The Allman Brothers Band. Brothers And Sisters. On original vinyl from 1973. Classic, southern-fried, and good for the soul.

She'll be in town next month singing Prelude and Liebestod out of all things Tristan und Isolde!

Forgotten I even had this. Great live band, usually a good sing along evening.

Edie Brickell & New Bohemians. Shooting Rubber Bands At The Stars. On vinyl from 1988. A strong debut album. Edie's vocals are simultaneously compelling and soothing. Music that's involving yet very easy to relax to.

Is it a quality album, yes...., am I jumping up and down, .......no....
