What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

A new recording of that pianistic obstacle course with magnificent views along the way that separates mice from men, the transcendental etudes. After only hearing the first few etudes, I can only imagine how inspirational / frustrating this recording must be for pianists without superpowers.
Cheers

Requiem by Goat
My first listen to their new album released and downloaded this morning.
I've had 'Chuck E's In Love' stuck in my head since i woke up this morning (not sure why) so ...
Having another listen to this. Brilliant album.
Ok it doesn't stray too far from the usual formula (if it ain't broke...) but great soundscapes, serious sub bass and foot tapping rhythms - Classic Yello ![]()

I was recommended this at a forum meet up quite a while back now, and after buying it, it's been overlooked in my music library. I came across it again last night whilst updating my Walkman so thought i'd load it up and give it a go today.
Muse, meets Rage Against The Machine with a vocalist reminiscent of Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins) sums it up nicely i think...
Enjoyably intense stuff that deserves to be played LOUD !

For all those of us who've been part of the love fest for Yello's new one, "Toy", if you haven't listened to this, their previous album, it's even better, IMHO
Available on Tidal.

Jumping up & down !!!! get outta here, this is Norah Jones & is supposed to be re-e-e-laxin' & cuddle up cozy music
Mike, did you find a download at a decent price? The Qobuz 24 bit is ridiculously expensive.
HighResAudio @ £14 - they have been my #1 go-to for quite a while now, always seem to be most competitive.
I looked there but couldn't find it. Must try harder. Thanks.

Sh##### still there but now showing £12 !!!!!
Metallica, Death Magnetic. Time to work out the Speakers. Not my favorite Metallica album but worthy of the occasional listen.

CD - 21/10
Vinyl - 25/10

1999 - Original double vinyl...

Not forgetting this one, "Stella", from 2005..............................a winner.
I know I'm more than likely preaching to the converted, but there may be some folks out there unfamiliar with their earlier stuff.
Time to get acquainted then, and, remember, must be played LOUD! ![]()
Because I've been playing the Truckers new one a lot lately and I listened to this in car and now at home. Mighty fine album - some very dark lyrics.
CD rip.

Agreed, but what I mean that the album as such is not so exciting. Slow laid back music can still be very exciting....
Some recent African music posts got me delving back in time - used to have this on vinyl. 1984. Tidal.

In the mood for a bit of instrumental psychedelic rock, this recent album is tinted nicely with more than a touch of space rock.

1989 - Original vinyl..
Never been into their stuff much because I find Mr Tyler extremely irritating but this album is very well recorded , fun and the music is not bad either, particularly A-side. Perry keeps things together.
I can take or leave most of their albums but they are an excellent live group
