Sunny Sunday morning and Bix Beiderbecke - what could be better? (Apart from a 20 mile run along the canal, of course.)

Sunday morning is for classical music for me. Preferably classical piano....., so I have other choices....

Must try and expand my Adams collection but not sure it gets better than this classic.

Graeme,  I have most (not all) of his output and I think this is still probably his best.  Ashes and Fire, Cold Roses and Love is Hell are IMHO the others that are most consistent.  Lots of gems on his other albums though.  I dug out Cardinology the other week after seeing it posted on here and really enjoyed it. Cheers N.

This was my start to the day earlier  - prior to relatively pathetic 6 mile run, although it did involve quite a lot of hill work.

Tidal.

The dear wife is out shopping so able to put on some loud vinyl with my new Krystal ...

These are original albums of mine that I've not played for a long time ... my smile is as wide as the Tay bridge is long ....

Tarkus by Emerson, Lake and Palmer

Everybody's Rockin' by Neil Young

Great Opera Choruses - A Pickwick compilation

Boccherini Guitar Quintets by Pepe Romero and Academy of St Martin

... wow - what detail, what rocking bass, what space

Only downside was there is a low bass grumble on the Boccherini that I've never heard before - sounds like it is background rumble in the recording studio?

All in all a lovely Sunday morning - now off to help her ladyship unload the shopping.

Allan

Rolf Lislevand & Ensemble Capsberger

"Norwegian guitarist Rolf Lislevand here takes up the music of a newly hot composer, Spain's Santiago de Murcia, who is thought to have lived in Mexico in the early eighteenth century since some of his manuscripts were found there. The chief interest in his music resides in his cross-cultural use of dance rhythms; his works, vocal or instrumental, are brimming with vigorous Spanish and Italian dances, and he was one of the first Western composers to encounter West African rhythms and incorporate them into his music." Alright Now - The Best of Free - streaming. Great compilation though not as good as the original  Free Story. Dropping lots of hints for the new Free vinyl box set for my birthday at the end of month. Anyone bought it and any comments about it?

Last one before the Michael McDonald era.

Because it's rather good  !

As is this.

Pete Townshend - Anthology - streaming - overall a brilliant collection of Petes  songs, but a few strange ones that even Pete questions why he ever did them. This collection is high on my most played list.

The Who - My Generation - 180g vinyl re-issue from a few years ago, replacing my original which was past its best. Great album, mainly typical manic, but brilliant moon drums, and some bits where they seem to have calmed him down. Some classic Townshend songs, and  I never tire of his unique style. An album well worth a listen!

The live set.

A Who afternoon - onto A Quick One, Another great album, with some great tracks including Petes first rock opera. The mono on these early albums is really refreshing.

A+ | Transcoded DSD

(2012)

Their debut album that brought with it a great mix of eclectic world sounds over washed with americana.
