2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Discussion on here a few days ago about various live Free concerts gave me quite a hankering to get this album out and give it a play....but it's alright now. ![]()
Hille Perl: Sainte Colombe - Retrouve & Change

Hille Perl and friends playing some lovely arrangements, reconstructions and original versions of music by the enigmatic M. Sainte Colombe, famous in his day as the teacher of Marin Marais, now a character shrouded in the mists of obscurity by a gross lack of biographical information. Highly recommended.
On vinyl. Because I like it and because I've eaten a lot of lobster and oysters today.

Lovely sea food and thanks for introducing me to Julia Holter earlier this year.

While driving back from the Netherlands. Fantastic mix of old and new, not soon after that Child in Time didn't show up anymore on the live sets...

Pleasure Stevee! ![]()
There seems to have been a lot of Yello love in these parts over the past couple of days, so I thought I'd dig up this killer compilation (on double vinyl) from 1986...

Gordon Giltrap, guitar legend , 1978 vynil album Fear of the Dark. Superb...amazing guitarist.

One day I'll figurout how to add a picture

An old Sleeping at Last from 2014

Steven Wilson 2016 remix of this album has got to be the best he has ever done. The 5.1 mix and the CD is absolutely stunning.
Jumped a few - The Who By Numbers - was disappointed with this when bought my first copy on release, but enjoy it now

Released this week on Tidal, one week ahead of release on other markets. //Mike

Their debut album. Wouldn't have thought I'd go for the grundgie stuff but the rawness and power grabbed me and I've been a Garbage fan even since.

Thanks for that info Mike. It seems like a bold and unusual move to put an album out there a week before its due to go on general sale but then again what the hell do I know. ![]()

I've decided to continue to tease myself while I await the availability of my pre-ordered download of Mirage their next album due out next week, despite the fact it has been pre-released on Tidal.
Original vinyl from '75. The 17-minute title track is of course an awe-inspiring and utterly hypnotic disco epic:

The vinyl box has wonderful sound quality. The best I've ever heard these albums sound.
Don' t hesitate. Get the box before it sells out and bocomes unaffordable.
