Staying with live acoustic albums for now.

Recorded in front of an audience for French Radio, this really is Eric Bibb at his best.

Again, I can't see it on Tidal, but hunt this one down, it's excellent.

Esbjörn Svensson Trio - Good Morning Susie Soho

Forever indebted to 'Rigger' at what was the Southampton branch of Tower Records, who introduced me to this band.

An occasional dabbler in early EBTG but really got to like them from Amplified Heart onwards. Time to boot up the Melco and give this a play...

Some gentle Norah Jones before cooking dinner. I really should get some more of her albums.

Her new album harkens back to this one as well....gentle and softly moving. (To be fair, have only listened to it on Tidal hi-fi so far though.)

This has been getting lots of play here (I haven't had a chance to listen yet).  I didn't realize Patterson Hood had moved with his family to Portland.  DBT first ever trip to the NW was back in June 2000 opening for Jerry Joseph on a regional tour.  Jerry also lives here again and I am concerned if our little town will survive both of them here (although mostly off touring).  Just kidding.  Oregon Public Broadcasting has posted an interview and a "session" video of DBT playing the new album live.  Enjoy.  Jeff A

Radiant, sublime performances of the French suites. I actually turned up late at work this morning because I couldn't resist listening to the first three suites in their entirety. Perahia's approach doesn't seem to have changed greatly since he started playing and recording Bach in the 90s, letting the music unfold naturally, with beautifully judged sonorities and never losing sight of the tension arches. But there is also a new intangible quality, that really made me sit up and listen and appreciate how absolutely fantastic this music is. The recording is outstanding (I listened to the 24/96 files). What a great year for recordings 2016 is turning out to be!

Following the last one, not so much bar room blues, as pub rockers....................and one of the best, surely?

Signing off with another pub rock classic................."Dancing the Night Away" anyone?
