What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
Another run of this one, very very nice....
A new CD by Dutch rising star baritone Thomas Oliemans.

A recent purchase inspired by the "Best Albums 2015…" thread.
Good one this is indeed.

A local Vancouver girl with whom I am not familiar. I just picked this up your recommendation.
Yes indeed - saw her & band supporting Lucinda Williams last week they were excellent. She was telling the audience about the very popular rock choirs she runs in Vancouver.
Haven't played this for a while - excellent stuff , maybe a little raucous for a Sunday morning
I firmly believe there is no "bad" time to listen to RUSH.
Now AIFF CD rip:-

It certainly is - I played it all the through twice yesterday and it's on again now. Might have to investigate how to do one of these new fangled Bandcamp download things ...
Bert do you know if this sounds significantly better as a download compared to a Tidal ?
This is the first time I have ever heard this record. Better late than never, I suppose.
Had a second listen to this during my workout and could have a better assessment of the quality. So at the one hand a lot to like and more prog less raw. What in my view is a bit a pity is that it's missing real raw pieces, that there are too many ballads and overall the album is too long..... So bottom line good very good but not great not better than scenes of a memory.
Don't listen to much classical - but felt like some Bach.
This sounds very good - via Tidal
Preferable to this version (in very different style) which I have on CD.
Another vinyl LP from the "Five Years" box set:
Their best (and best sounding) studio album imho.

Listening to this Wishbone Ash album (above), I can't avoid the mental image of the mini Stone Henge model being lowered onto the stage in the Spinal Tap film.

Listening 'all the way up to eleven' I hope...!

Steven Wilson's Hand. Cannot. Erase., in 5.1 surround sound. Fabulous multi-channel mix.
Beautiful collection of songs from this classy lady. Nice recording too.

It is John in the studio preparing for a tour and IMHO is well worth getting.
I also have official recordings from the tour and wish he would release a Live album from that era as the band were on fire on certain nights.
It pops up on a well known auction site every now and again
Thanks ewe. Just discog'd it - an unofficial release from Italy in 1992 as you say. $30 for the CD at the usual outlets, but being this is an 'unofficial' release is it fair game to pinch a torrent file and burn it?
I finally saw Mellencamp live last July and recently watched some Farm Aid footage of him. Great performer in concert, but the fags are taking a toll on his already gravelly voice. How much more phlegm will his stalwarts accept?
Never seen him Live. Had to sell tickets I had to a gig in the ealry 90's as I couldn't make it.
Think u may struggle getting a download of it.
1st press Blue Columbia vinyl
Another album which I've never heard before (Uriah Heap - Demons and Wizards). This too sounds rather dated and reminiscent of the Spinal Tap film.
Great sleeve though.
Original 1991 vinyl pressing - haven't heard it in 20 years so I thought I'd get it out and re-acquaint myself with it.
God this really boogies on original vinyl.
