Inspired by Haim to play this, my only Fred Hersch album. We went to the Vanguard last year and missed Fred by a few days, so I bought this CD instead.

I had the privilege of hearing him play live with his trio four years ago. I am thinking of going and seeing him again performing solo at the University of Chicago.  If you like him, I highly recommend two of his solo albums. Used copies in very good condition are going for under $4 at Amazon:

By the way, I am not familiar with your disc. Regards,

Haim

Well played psychedelic space rock with more than a nod towards Hawkwind.

Never heard of Nick Drake? The man was a genius. As well as his three albums there is a marvellous compilation called 'Made to Love Magic'.

Not until today!  incredible is how id describe him but i can see why you say genius.  I think that I have heard it all then BOOM! A new artist grips you..

The NAIM really suites his sound as well.

Jerry Yester & Judy Henske - Farewell Aldebaran

Seeing Raider post has stuffed this earworm into my head

For those who aren't familiar with it, Farewell Aldebaran was released on Frank Zappa's Straight label in 1969. Yester had just finished with The Lovin' Spoonful and his then wife Judy was a reknowned folk singer. The album is an unclassifiable classic - ranging from rock (Snowblind), through ballads (Rapture) to outright psych (the title track) and it's perhaps this somewhat wild eclectivness that kept it so underground.

It's been the victim of two pirate needle-drop CD releases but now Omnivore have released a kosher version that sounds absolutely demonstration class (which now brings my collection up to four versions!).

Non Paradisi by GosT

(A bandcamp download)

Heavy, dark, synthesiser infused metal. Rather avant garde and interesting to hang onto for the ride.
