A brand new copy of Dylans Blood on The Tracks, my first copy bought on release in 70's as my first Dylan album, just about worn through. I really wanted the MOFI one but she got the wrong one but still cost her £45 as one of my Xmas records. Condition is appalling!

Sudbin's must-have recording of Medtner's first concerto, paired with a solid account of the Tchaikovsky - which suffers from overexposure but, as they say, is too good to be played to death.

Quad 33,

deep groove red unboxed - you got me googling around with this term. Sought after pressings for the Stones and others I see. I get the deep groove pressing and red label part, but what does 'unboxed' refer to? I see used LPs selling as 'unboxed' on ebay.

It is really quite mundane! It's just to do with the Decca logo on the actual record label. The background is red and Decca is printed in silver. The later logo is a silver box with Decca in red letters. If you do a search for images of Decca boxed and unboxed you will soon find them.

I have the Mayall on the same release - it felt as if I had to wait months for it to come out - it was much anticipated. It still sounds amazing though well played over the years.

Another album of the man. Also film type of music, also interesting...

It certainly is - I played it all the through twice yesterday and it's on again now.  Might have to investigate how to do one of these new fangled Bandcamp download things ...

Bert do you know if this sounds significantly better as a download compared to a Tidal ?

I haven't heard it through Tidal. But the downloaded version is very good also sound quality wise. So I would download it and perhaps you take all of his five albums, while they are a different style then this one.

Another album which I've never heard before (Uriah Heap - Demons and Wizards). This too sounds rather dated and reminiscent of the Spinal Tap film.

Great sleeve though.

I loved Uriah Heep back in 1974. Once punk arrived in 76 I never listened to them again. It's fascinating that people are discovering them now, 40 years later!

I never thought, back in 76, that 40 years later I'd be listening to stuff like this...

Excellent album, in the 70's this was one of my favourite bands...have all their albums on original vinyl and saw them many, many times...

The solo albums from Ken Hensley are also great....

Still enjoy them, and think ' The Wizard' is awesome.....dated maybe, however  very enjoyable.....and some good memories.

Have a good Sunday

For me, it's Bowie's best.

This is the first time I have ever heard this record. Better late than never, I suppose.

Ash's best and in my view an all-time classic. Indeed, I'm playing as I type this.
