2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Including that song from that album, which just happened to be her first and most remembered.

This after watching Sheff Wed's beat Huddersfield 1-0 ![]()

UK Capitol first press vinyl. This album is only 29 minutes long but every nanosecond is magnificent. Bobbie only wrote two of the songs but they are both majestic examples of the songwriter's craft. The other songs are chosen with her customary care and reveal her exquisite good taste. Bobbie's version of "Son of A Preacher Man" here is superior to Dusty's, I think.
Because I saw it on the "OMG moments with 250DR" thread and haven't played it in years.
CD rip.

Anyway the rain has now stopped, so I'd better stop enjoying myself and go and do some outdoor chores ....

Watched the expendables on bluray last night and the 'boys are back in town' was played over the credits, So rocking the neighbourhood on original vinyl:
Brings back memory as I was at the hammersmith odeon when it was recorded

Kuma and I went to a Perahia concert in Chicago two years ago. His Bach piece of a French Suite was performed in a unique and less flowing style, very different from his recording.

That cover put a smile on my face and the music is just fitting too. Listening to it on Tidal. Cheers, Ewe. ![]()

Ewen the album art never made it to the page here.
First chance I've had to listen to this UK first press LP I picked up for a fiver a couple of months ago. Norman Whitfield's magic touch means the music is unimpeachable, of course, but the SQ is amazing - unbelievably fat bass ![]()

Tidalising this one for the moment but a lot of their back catalogue is now sitting in a virtual want list (trolley).
