Great album, while sometimes a bit too focused on musical ability...

Great melodic progressive rock album...

Good morning Blue Dog, is that album being transcoded to DSD or have you managed to buy a DSD version?

Magazine - Secondhand Daylight

I can almost smell the patchouli in the record shop at the bus station. There's a 'mall' on the bus station site now.

Good morning to you! I bought the SACD version a while back and after months biding my time on a well known auction site, I finally managed to obtain the correct version of a certain game console cheaply to allow me to rip the SACD layer to DSD.

... and very good it sounds, too!

Ah yes of course well done I'm glad it turned out for the good! Ripping a high res layer using the PS 3 is not something I have tried yet, perhaps it might be a good project to try in the winter months after having found some decent SACD of course... thanks!

It's actually unbelievably easy once you have the 'correct' PS 3 but therein lies the problem - people are asking silly money for those model/FW combinations. Mine was obviously sold by someone that didn't fully realise its worth and I got it for £90 posted.

I only have 2 SACDs at the moment but now there is no reason not to buy more.

Pete.

It's Coldplay's A Rush of Blood to the Head. It certainly doesn't make me happy at work.

Lovely album from early this year, beautifully played and recorded.  Qobuz download.

Cinematic Orchestra - Man With A Movie Camera

On the back of revisiting Every Day (a masterpiece), I played this, which though issued the year after Every Day was recorded three years previously. It does feature a few big tunes from Every Day, but it's excellent enough in its own right.

Where did Jason Swinscoe disappear to? I thought Ma Fleur was good, but not in the same class, and the Flamingoes soundtrack for Disney was pretty lame.

Regardless, I thank him for the first three albums!

A+ | Transcoded DSD

(1985)

From an original Island Record label CD. He had a great way of mixing a soulful voice in with jazz, ballads and pop, another one taken far too early.

A+ | Transcoded DSD

(2012)

Because I'm bang in the mood for this one and her voice singing to me.

2014 - Vinyl...

Posted on: 17 October 2016 by hungryhalibut

I must have run out of my free Photobucket uploads, so all I can say is that I'm listening to Suspended Night by Tomasz Stanko, with the Marcin Wasilewski trio. I was reminded of this earlier by a post about one of Marcin's earlier albums. Suspended Night really is quite brilliant, with lovely ECM sound.

As mentioned before, one of my favorites of this year in jazz....
