I have been listening to and enjoying Jay Tausig's previous albums, liking his space-rock/psychedelic-rock style. Unfortunately this one has tipped over the line venturing more into discordant jazz which doesn't work for me.
After falling out of love with this album, i've been using this alot in the last few days to get speaker positioning just right - the dry, overdamped bass on 'Chuck E's In Love' providing an useful contrast to the fat sounding double bass on 'Easy Money' to get the balance just right. I'd forgotten what a good album this is and how fresh it still sounds today, even though it came out 37 years ago !
Rickie Lee Jones - Rickie Lee Jones
A vinyl fest today, all the jumping up & down's good for my hip recovery. A perfect start, Dusty on 2X45rpm LPs, followed by a fine bit of Genesis :-

White Manna - Pan
This morning's constitutional accompaniment, and jolly good walking music it is too (punky rock somewhere between early Stooges and Wooden Shjips). Particularly for powering you up hills!

Just the thing for a sunny North Yorks. afternoon.
Horace Andy doing some cool, laid back tracks................a major contributor to the sound of Massive Attack..................highly recommended for all the reggae boyz.

I haven't played this since I got it back in June going to give it another a run out now. ![]()
What happened there then? Two hours ago, sunny skies, and now the deluge, so.................this, upbeat and happy music.

"Just Can't Stop It" - The Beat...................surely one of the best of British 2Tone / Ska?
I like working to a bit of Miles in his "out there" period. So, this box set:

Still bouncing along to some 2Tone, with the fab Pauline Black, in an effort to cheer up an overcast, wet, 'orrible North Yorks. afternoon.
The latest and best remaster of "One Step Beyond" IMHO.

It's working, this ska / rocksteady thing has brought the sun back out here in North Yorks.
I'm off out to make the most of it. ![]()

Looks like a 2Tone afternoon then.............................it must be raining where you are too! ![]()
Actually it's sunny but very windy as I discovered on a brief cycle ride. Clive

Thanks to the wonder of Tidal listening to the Steven Wilson remix of this for the first time.

Rock 'n Roll fest, anyone?
