2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

45RPM vinyl. Giving the system a serious workout

Excellent reproduction quality and the best version of Hotel California I've heard.

Mike this is a great sounding CD already if you fancy it try the SHM CD from that Japanese site, for CD replay (obviously) the benefits are another notch up in replay quality.

Crikey, Steve. An even better reproduction quality version is a tantalising prospect. Thanks. I'll explore that.
Mike
Riverside, Eye of the Sounscape. Experimental music from the Guys, seems to me this is where Riverside and Lunatic Soul cross over and that is no bad thing.

I ripped the audio from the DVD. Stunning..... Totally agree about this being the best version of Hotel California
Dio - Last In Line (Vinyl).
A couple of so so songs, but otherwise top notch metal. IMO as good as Holy Diver.
Deep Purple, 24 Carat Purple, first pressing vinyl ![]()
Now on to Tron Legacy, first pressing vinyl. Daft Punk excelled themselves here, a rich and fully fledged classical-synth fusion of symphonic proportions which matches the digital pomp of the storyline. Awesome, moving and resonant ( in and emotional touch stone kinda way).
Day 9 without my lovely Hugo and I am having serious withdrawal symptoms now. I'm going to treat it to a linear power supply for Xmas. In the meantime some classic Suzanne to cheer me up on very nice sounding original vinyl

Was prompted to play this after my latest LP12 upgrades...

Porcupine Tree - Anesthetize...on vinyl.
WOW, sounds amazing!! ![]()
Dayjay, been there with the Hugo.. it honestly makes no difference... you can even get someone to disconnect the PSU where you can't see what they are doing.. and I challenge you to spot any difference what so ever... great engineering... and Chord Electronics recommend no messing swapping out different power supplies

My post was misleading Simon, the PSU will be for the USB Regen I use with the Hugo. You are quite right, I can't hear any difference with the Hugo PSU connected or not

HD Tracks 24/96 a pleasant blast from the past
Following HH's recommendation:

Recorded thirty years ago, released again recently after the death of Charlie Haden:

Every now and again a trip down memory lane is in order...

Nice instrumental rock during workout....

As well during workout...

1st run...

Bruce Springsteen. High Hopes. On vinyl from 2014. A heavy hitting and powerful album from The Boss.

Haven't played some jazz in ages so I think I will continue in the same vein for a week or so.
You Spin Me Round, Dead or Alive, on Radio 2 whilst I'm gettng ready for work. When I was young I used to DJ a little and this was pretty huge at the time.
