2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Ry Cooder - Buena Vista Social Club.
One of Señor Cooder's many excursions into new musical areas............absolutely cracking album................and the guitar sounds tie in with the previously mentioned Blake Mills...............two masters of their craft. IMHO.
Nighty night. ![]()

Morrissey - Vauxhall and I
I have always had a soft spot for this one; first listen in a while

Well there's Tony Williams who needs no introduction, of course, and then there's the excellent Allan Holdsworth on guitar. What's not to like? Great jazz fusion.
Just some enjoyment after the concert...

Gerry Mulligan - Night Lights. CD. Soft & lovely

Ryan Adams-Heartbreaker
John Coltrane - Standard Coltrane. (like in - playing some standards, 1958). Not issued until 1962 when he was on higher demand. Good one!

A good start to the day ![]()
AC/DC - Back In Black

And why not? .................on a sunny North Yorks. morning.

AC / DC - The Razor's Edge, with, of course, "Thunderstruck"....................great!

Eric Bibb & Needed Time - Good Stuff.
More impeccably played blues from the ever reliable Eric Bibb - this one with his Swedish studio backing band...............recorded "as is", with no overdubs or subsequent jiggery pokery...............good stuff indeed.

Twenty years on since their first major release and these boys are still continuing to turn out good, interesting and different rock.

North Mississippi Allstars - Shake Hands With Shorty.
More down-home boogie from the brothers Dickinson.
31p from the usual place..................bargain! ![]()
Another find thanks to Mr Garvey on his Sunday 6 Music show
Terry Reid - River

Z Z Top - One Foot in the Blues.
Well, if we're talking "down-home boogie" ........................ these guys?

Ow mooch?!?!?
The other day I bought a Joss Stone - The Souls Sessions album from the usual place for 1p, yes 1p. And the condition was described as 'Used - Like New'! Let's see.
Am Tidalising North Mississippi Allstars to see if it is worth 31 of my hard-earned pennies.
Good fun this hobby of ours and lots of good music is virtually free! Can't be bad.
