What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
Coz me brother is going to see them Tuesday.

One of my favourite albums of 2010.
Try the trax City Underwater or Medicine Man.
At times sounds like Robin Trower with James Dewar did live.

I do apologise..............this has been posted so often lately......................but I'm watching "The One Show" on the Beeb right now, and they've just featured this............................so.................... ![]()

Something pleasant and gentle to start the evening with.
Not seen that cover artwork for No Frontiers before.
Roxy Music - For Your Pleasure
My kind of Art Rock. And the uptempo Editions of You is sublime.

Peter Gabriel - Scratch My Back...

On vinyl...stunning!! ![]()

^ I assume you have this cover Mike which seems to have been used when it was reissued, reprinted (or whatever?) in 1992 on both Vinyl and CD. As far as I can see on Discogs the album cover I have is the one it was originally issued with in the 80s. There again I could be totally wrong on that but have a look here at Discogs who are usually pretty accurate.

Hmmm, thought mine was early/original and its Polydor. Great record anyway!
Well spotted. That is the cover for the 77' Dutch pressing. Mine is a Polydor 2442118 A1/B1 pressing and below is the cover for the UK 1st pressing.
Cheers
Tony
I've just dug out my original copy and gave it a spin. Good album, but I was always disappointed with Akermans playing, particularly on Sylvia.
Strangely, or maybe not, the cat was sleeping soundly through the fireworks that where going off, but as soon as Thijs Van Leer’s vocals kicked in, it woke up jumped off its chair and stared worryingly at the speakers.
Just because...

Haven't played any of their albums in years reminds me to dig one out.

6 trax off the album.

Do you mean "Lights Out", perhaps you where distracted by your work.![]()
Plus One. A great album
The live album “Strangers in the night” is definitely worth a listen, as is Michael Schenkers first solo album after he left UFO.
Bryan Ferry - Boys and Girls
So tasteful. The sonic equivalent of handmade shoes. (I imagine).

MSG - One Night at Budokan
