2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.

Mandolin Orange - Blindfaller.  Much played at moment.  Tidal - may have to splash out and actually buy a full price CD /download (shock, horror ...).  The usual Tidal dilemma I guess, but Tidal is sounding very good to my cloth ears these days, so at what point (if any) should a recording be purchased ?  For older music, preloved CDs are available for pennies so that's a no brainer, but what about new stuff ?  If there's a good price hires download available, I'm sometimes tempted by that. Maybe a topic for another thread.

Gotta give RS some credit - right in the middle of the disco craze he releases an album with a song that is old school rock n' roll, where the first 45 seconds was a guitar solo...Billy Peek and Gary Grainger never met a double stop they didn't like on 'Hot Legs.'

One of my favorite answers to a question was also courtesy of Rod Stewart - after one of his highly publicized divorces, when asked about it, he quipped "Next time I'm just going to find a woman I hate and give her a house."

Pure bliss for a wet Sunday - the North Star Grassman and the Ravens (live) and Like and Old Fashioned Waltz (live) just bring out the goosebumps

Funnily enough I was playing tracks from the Sandy Denny BBC sessions at about the same time. I followed that with some selected tracks from the 'I've Always Kept a Unicorn' acoustic album. The goosebumps track for me from that set is 'Full Moon'. So beautiful. But then it is Sandy.

Better than I expected. A return to form, really. Very nice indeed.

Flo Morrissey - Tomorrow Will Be Beautiful.

There's a lot of premature talent out there but this young lady,  from London , certainly has bucket loads of it.

Great music and you have the very rare CD that was withdrawn as soon as it was issued!

Well, if you will insist on paying over the odds, 50p, I see what you mean.

Someone mention Led Zep?

OK, let's play.

Led  Zeppelin 2.

One of a boxset of Japanese SHM - CDs........................I bought these years ago, and also bought each of the last series of Jimmy Page remasters.

Amid all the views on the various remasters over the years, I still prefer the sound of these ones.

First heard this vinyl at a hi-fi show in early 1987 being used by Doug Graham and Mark Tucker to demo the latest Naim innovation - Helen Merrill & Gordon Beck 'No Tears, No Goodbyes'.
