2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
It is always a joy to listen to the Spock's Beard until Nick D'Virgillio left....., one of the greatest prog bands...

Interesting album, difficult to digest at times but that's Peter for you, I suppose. I haven't listened to any of his stuff since Over, apart from the usual VDG. Thanks for posting.
A+ | Tidal

(April 2016)
"Rocky, folky, groggy, poppy & psych-y (if that's a word?), 'Desire's Magic Theatre' shows how exciting, and eccentrically English, it can get when one person's / Purson's vision is allowed to run free..." - An Amazonian
1991(?) Streaming...
I've seen this recommended here a few times, and finally got around to giving it a listen (via Tidal). Great album so far.

Ragman, you don't hang around obviously !
It's only been on release since Saturday ! My copy is on it's way to 'Chez WW' from a famous rainforest web-site. ![]()
What are your views of the performances ?
Otis Taylor - White African.

Nigel,
If you're liking that, you might well enjoy this too.................also available on Tidal.
Trance blues, with more than a hint of the master, John Lee hooker, apparently a big influence on Otis.
The subject matter is a bit bleak, but the music is stunning. IMHO.

(2015)
Live At The Garage - All Them Witches
Another fine live album from ATW recorded In 2014. Take your pick from any combination of musical rock tags to describe their sound: blues, desert, psychedelic, stoner.
If you want to test the PRAT of your system give the first song Paradigm Shift a try. You only will need one minute to know a lot of information about the directness of your system. It's also helpful if you had a bad day at work :-)

Mud Morganfield & Kim Wilson - For Pops - A Tribute to Muddy Waters.
Some late afternoon Chicago blues......................with Mud proving that he really is a chip off the old block.....................ably assisted by ex Fabulous Thunderbirds' Kim Wilson on harmonica.
Carrying on the great tradition of Chicago bar room blues.....................a great listen.
A+ | Transcoded DSD

(2012)
I played the very good remixed Circles the other day (thanks for the tipoff Nickpeacock) and fancied going back to the original for another quick psychedelic rock blast.
Mark Knopfler - Shangri-La. CD rip.
Acquired a few MN albums over the summer, they all sound great and I regularly dip in.

Emphasising the silent "K" Nick ? ![]()

Led Zeppelin - 1st Album.
Carrying on from the other evening with what was, surely, one of the best debut albums?
Again, on Japanese SHM - CD.....................coz I fink dey sound betterer.

I saw they one or two albums on band camp that are not on Tidal. Have you heard those? I haven't used band camp before but thinking I will for this band.

Yep, I have them all now and they are all very good. You can play them on bandcamp without buying if you just want to try them.

As I suggested a few days back, when I posted this one, it's (IMHO), a definite, late night, end of session, glass of malt, album.![]()
Hi Dave
Had a quick listen to the first 4 or 5 tracks, and I'd agree - very good listen. Will have to listen to some of his other work.
Thank for the recommendation.
Nigel
Beyond the Wizards sleeve - The Soft Bounce . If you like a mix of 80s electronica , Guitars , Acid House and Psychedelia then this may be up your strasse . First listen on Tidal but definitely not the last .

The Sensational Alex Harvey Band - Framed.
Talking of debut albums..................this....................from the hugely underrated SAHB.
Sensational indeed.

No need for any apology Nick, it's only a bit of fun. Silent "K" as in it is not pronounced when one says "Knopfler" thus your use of MN (above) led me to comment that you had emphasised the silent "K" by using an "N" rather than a "K"...phew! ![]()

Ah - got it ! Way too subtle for me. My recent prog excursions must have addled a few cells ![]()
Anyway, now this one from the same chap.

Ronnie Lane's Slim Chance - Anymore for Anymore.
Another blast from the past from the lovely Plonk..................... ah, memories!
