2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

24/96 Flac download via Astell & Kern player and headphones whilst doing work, and sounding excellent

Some Nightwish videos on YouTube, including Armaranth, which some said that some of the words are:-
"Carrots that wander, never fading, raining. You're hard!
And Jesus' snow white Zorro!
Carrots that wander, hiding m&ms in a lamb, after they break... THEY BREAK!!!!"
I'll have what he's on!

Played this so much as a student. Listened to it tonight for the first time in donkeys years on Tidal, inspired by another forumite on this thread, and thoughroughly enjoyed it. It so took me back to those happy student years, and what a great album!
Can't wait for the CD to float down the river to me.
Must dig this out later and give it a spin....better do some work first..!
Leftfield, Rhythm and Stealth. No one else is home, so a chance to blow away some cobwebs ![]()

Old Vinyl again

Accumulating greatness with last albums in mind and in tow to the future.
Roger Waters, In the Flesh - Live. WAV CD Rip. Ooohh Babe :-)

Just in the mood for this excellent debut solo album from Riverside's lead guitarist and songwriter Bjorn Riis.

Elton John - Blue Moves
The last great Elton John album On CD

Elton John & Leon Russell - The Union.
Although I'm not a huge Elton Fan, this album, where he gets together with one of his greatest influences, is a cracker.

I agree with that Raider, I have the Gus Dudgeon remaster on a Japanese SHM-CD (2010) which, sounds very good indeed.

Typical modern jazz, variations of melodic, sometimes repeating rhythmic patterns.... nice...

Ragman, you don't hang around obviously !
It's only been on release since Saturday ! My copy is on it's way to 'Chez WW' from a famous rainforest web-site.
What are your views of the performances ?
Was Not so impressed Byte the First run.
will Listen to again....
Portishead, Dummy. WAV CD Rip. After giving the system a hard workout with Leftfield played at 60, this is sounding sublime. Is it normal to sound better after some very loud playing?
