2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.

During brunch...

Jim James.

jason isbell - something more than free.
Been playing this and "Southeastern" quite a bit over the past few days. Great albums, good songs and production. CD rip.

Excellent album, Ewe. Listened to it a few days ago and I enjoyed a lot more than his MMJ stuff. No limit to his talents.

Television - Marquee Moon
On White Vinyl
Gosh - that takes me back. Used to have this on Green Vinyl. Only have the CD now. Must give it a run again.

"C.P.E. was the second eldest of Johann Sebastian's four musician sons and arguably the most brilliant and influential. Scholars today consider him to have been the most prominent keyboard player and pedagogue in Europe when, at age 54, he became music director of Hamburg, leaving behind a nearly 30-year career in Berlin as keyboardist to Frederick the Great. Reports tell of Bach improvising at his beloved clavichord for hours on end."
Unpredictable, plenty of mood shifts but never a boring note:

More Ducal majesty, on CD:

1st run...
Impressive. The first piece is very much in the Köln Concert style, the other pieces are a bit different. But absolutely recommended for the people who are into Keith and solo, it's much more accessible as the music of some of the more recent solo concerts. A milestone.
Have you found this to download? It's £35 on Amazon, which is too much.
12.99 on the French version of Qobuz.....
Just reviewed it. A typical example of euro craziness. The German side requests ov r 33 euros for the same album. I always would advise to scan multiple sides. Even as much as this weekend I made a mistake by getting the same standard version of the new Sol Gabetta believing it wouldn't come in high res, then on other sites it started to show up on other sites. Arghhhh
Another painful examples was the Brückner Cycle from Jaap van Zweden I saw it for close to 80 euros, bought it for 60 and was surprised to see it show up on another side for 15 euros....
If you have a sublime account of Qobuz, mostly Qobuz France is the cheapest. Sometimes for ECM on high Res I get a cheaper version on pro studio masters (as American registration).
The german Amazon side says 4 Discs!
Yes it is four discs, so typical cheap pricing of Qobuz...
Could Not See at qobuz that this are 4 CD
This Is one of my all time favorite albums Jennifers interpretation of Joan Of Arc is just spine tingling majestic...

1997 CD.

Paolo Nutini - Sunny Side Up.
A wee bit of JockRock from Paolo.................the opener, 10/10 is just the sort of lighthearted ska tune to brighten up a gloomy overcast North Yorks. Sunday afternoon.
lambchop flotus - Tidal
It's definitely a Lambchop album Jim but not as we know it. Starting to grow on me, but still not sure about that pesky vocoder.

Wonderful playing, best example of Bloomfield's wonderful talents. Listening to CD, remastered edition with bonus tracks
Wolf People-Fain
seen this band here a couple of times of late. I like the music. Would it be fair to say the lead singer has a Morrisey sound?
Green Day - 21st Century Breakdown - streaming in hi-res. Must be a couple of years since downloaded this from HD-tracks and last played it. Quite enjoying it today.
Listened to "Live in London" yesterday.
Thought I'd give this a spin today. Haven't listened to it since I upgraded to NAP300DR with SL i.c./SL speaker cable.
It's like the performance is in the room.

tokyo adagio - charlie haden & gonzalo rubalcaba
Very mellow.
CD rip.

Chicken Shack - 40 Blue Fingers.
Did some old UK blues the other day, and completely overlooked these guys.
Rockin' album, with, of course the lovely Christine McVie, (nee Perfect), on vocals.
The Desert Sessions-Volume 9 & 10
Just back from the pub and Beer after emotional remembrance day, so step away from the vinyl and spin some fun silver discs... first up

both on CD. Marvellous.
