E.S.T. Live in Hamburg, a great album, top 10 in jazz for me......

A recent purchase following a recommendation on here. My initial favourable impression continues.
Sbtrkt - wonder where we land

Time for some Devonian rock of a hardish proggy variety with those lovely twin lead guitars moving it all along.
On CD:-

KT Tunstall - Kin
An excellent Kenny Wheeler / John Taylor album on the small Egea label from Perugia in Umbria. The label has lots of really good albums.

Still in the box, but decided to jump forward a few years, to the Obscured By Clouds 2016 Mix. Hmmm... it's definitely a different mix (there are some edits too), in some ways more punchy and way less muddy than the original. But it's far, far too trebly - many, I suspect, will find it painful. Only the title track sounds better IMO. I will give it another go at some point but I can't see this disc getting too many plays.
- "Obscured by Clouds" - 3.03
- "When You're In" - 2.31
- "Burning Bridges" - 3.30
- "The Gold It's In The..." - 3.07
- "Wot's...Uh The Deal" - 5.09
- "Mudmen" - 4.18
- "Childhood's End" - 4.33
- "Free Four" - 4.16
- "Stay" - 4.06
- "Absolutely Curtains" - 5.52

Why? I'm not much of a Genesis fan, certainly not of the post-Gabriel era but I do like to give this a whirl now and again.

One of those hi-res downloaded Qobuz studio masters editions that don't sound too bad at all.
Mine's vinyl

Why? Not sure really, it sort of spoke to me. Actually, I'm not sure why I like this group to be honest. Even though I have 3 of their albums it's not normally my type of music.

Was the last one I heard at work today, great album...

Muddy Waters - Country Blues.
Recorded around the time of Muddy's initial arrival in Chicago, this album is a pointer towards what subsequently lay in store.

The Undertones

Their cover of Seals and Crofts's Summer Breeze is much cooler. Mind you, it feels like summer out there tonight.![]()

The Stranglers - Rattus Norvegicus
