Norfolk's finest - shame about the rather 'hot' vocal SQ but otherwise a fine album.

Last one of the evening..

I really haven't played this in years (20?), but thought I'd give it a spin before disassembling my turntable to take it on a trip to Rearsby on Friday.

2009 - Tidal...

I spent  four  days six months ago ripping all my CDs and these days I end up playing them via Tidal HF.

Carl Nielsen 4th Symphony. NYPO, Alan Gilbert.

Superb sound here. I'm listening to CD rip, but I think must available in higher res. Doesn't need it AFAIC. Mastering monitored on B&W 802Diamonds, so if you have those speakers, presumably sounds even better !

This is a beautiful album, going down very well with a stout this chilly evening in Dublin.

One of those albums that just instantly chills me out, Crowded House and Woodface, Flac via Audirvana/Hugo.

In search of energy after a long day:

A jazz recording from 1961, featuring Stan Getz on tenor saxophone with a string orchestra. The album is a suite which was originally commissioned by Getz from composer and arranger Eddie Sauter. Sauter's orchestration did not include melodies for Getz. Rather, Sauter left spaces in the arrangements in which Getz would improvise. Documentation for the recording dates is incomplete, but the CD booklet reports that those involved in the original sessions recall that Getz recorded live with the strings on about half the songs, while he overdubbed sax solos on the others.

Delbert McClinton. Nothing Personal. On CD from 2001. First listen. Roots rock infused with Texas blues, some healthy honky-tonk, and a welcome waft of country. Always a great groove and accomplished sound throughout. So good I'm giving it an immediate second spin.

Incubus, Morning View, not listened to this album in ages, brings back good memories like good music should.  Flac via Audirvana/Hugo

Fleetwood Mac - The Dance, not an album I listen to that often, in fact I'd forgotten I had it. A track played on Radio Paradise reminded me. Turned it up a bit, that helps "burn in" doesn't it?

Joy Division, Love Will Tear Us Apart, becaue everyone should listen to it occasionally.  Brilliant. Flac via Audirvana/Hugo

On CD:-

Tame Impala - Currents

The Bros. Landreth - Let it Lie.

Why? Well I discovered this on here, these boys are a class act IMHO and I haven't listened to it for a while.

It's on Tidal.

Fanger & Schönwälder - Analog Overdose "The Ricochet Dream Edition"

These two do classic era Tangerine Dream style electronica superbly, and this is close to their very best. This was a two CD set recorded for the specialist Ricochet Dream label (Discogs is your friend here), and it combines the usual sequencer-driven stuff with the atmospheric sounds more associated with Froese's Epsilon In Malaysian Pale style.

Highly recommended for a dusky late afternoon/evening mood.

Marillion, Sounds that Can't Be Made. WAV CD Rip. I do not play this album very often, but when I do, I enjoy it.
