2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.

Used to adore them all but now they all sound same, and bit like jenifer lopez
I don't think they sound anything like Jenifer Lopez

A little 1994 remastered Tangerine Dream to start this very frosty morning.

I've not played this yet since it arrived a week or so ago. Looking forward to having a listen this afternoon.

Agreed - definitely their best. Like you, I only have this on CD now, but I received an email from a retailer which specialises in progressive sounds the other day (rhymes with 'turning red') which advised that the Roxy Music catalogue is being reissued on vinyl. Grab one while you can!

great live recording, but maybe a bit 'difficult ' in places
Is it "18"only music cd by Norwegian Opera?
It is a CD/DVD of the Norwegian Band Ulver playing at theNorwegian National Opera House is Oslo.
the 18 sticker is for the DVD, some of the images accompanying the music are adult only.

Early Sunday with some edgy Joni. Mixed critical reviews but I have always enjoyed this.

On Friday I paid a visit to Cymbiosis where my Radikal power supply was upgraded to a Klimax model and the Linn Silvers swapped for Chord SSA. Consequently I've been visiting a few albums which haven't been played for a while just to see how they sound. I never really got into Janis, but I'm certainly hearing more of this album than I have before.

Laura Gibson - Empire Builder
David Ellias, Crossing, fantastic musicians, stunning sound quality, close your eyes and there is a band playing in your living room, giiutars you can reach out and touch. DSD via Audirvana/Hugo.
Takashi Yoshimatsu - Piano Concerto "Memo Flora"
Japanese, contemporary classical. Chandos CD. Only fairly recently discovered him. The concerto is rather lovely (though not, in my opinion, in a Classic FM way) and thoroughly melodic. The nearest comparison I can make is with Poulenc.
Here's the Andante
The rest of the disc is made up of orchestral pieces, most of which bring Arvo Part to mind, for example:

I have the later Nikolaeva version on Hyperion and love the music. Made me re-evaluate Bach on the piano after a lifetime of favouring the harpsichord to the exclusion of all else.
On original vinyl. Because there has no been no Frappage in these parts for a while. New album due next spring/summer, the rumour mill has it...
