2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
This, the first concert of four in the box set, is excellent. Brilliant playing and a super recorded sound. I wouldn't want to play all four one after the other, but over a few days I'll try the rest.
Scott Matthews - Passing Stranger
Thanks guys. (you know who you are).

The first one is in my opinion the best one, and I agree it's not the type of music to listen to the full length of the album.
But still very special that somebody can create such beautiful music on the spot...
A rather special version of the sonatas. Worthwhile listening as contrast to the usual way of playing the sonatas...
Wilko Johnson & Roger Daltrey - Going Back Home.
A shot of good old fashioned British R 'n B from two old gits .................................... you just can't help loving this one.
A+ | Transcoded DSD
(2001)
A total change of musical tack, as often happens I crave this woman's very fine voice and the excellence or her bluegrass band.

Still my favourite Pat Metheny album. Released in 1982. Offramp.
Dr. Feelgood - Stupidity.
Well, following that blast from Wilko and Roger, what else could I possibly play?
One of the great live albums.
This is just perfect while cooking dinner, using the multiroom.
The Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed.
More music from some old gits ...........................ain't 'alf good though, innit.

In fact, the older I get, the better I was.

One of the highly recommended albums in modern jazz....
The Strolling Bones - Tattoo You.
Some more tunes from these old gits ....................... start me up indeed.
Last one of the evening, 'cos I'm off to watch Ole, Ole, Ole, the documentary of their South American tour..............again!
For anyone who missed it........... available on Channel 4 catchup.
1978 - Original double vinyl...
Just found this on Qobuz- a great recording, SQ and music wise: Bruno Cocset- Bach Trio & Sonates
11 Tracks of Whack

Not a great sound quality, but still interesting to get a feel for this music...

An absolute recommendation, a very good dialogue between sax and bass, tastefully supported by the drums. Give it a try...
Good call Bert - haven't played this for a very long time. Exactly as you describe.
