2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
One of Steven Osborne's best records to date. The sound quality is very good, too - a real pity this hasn't been issued in high resolution.
Cheers

Shawn Mullins, Souls Core, the male artist equivalent of Nerina Pallots Fires for me, a favourite album that I never get bored of. His other work isn't quite up to this IMO. Flac via Audirvana/Hugo
Robert Palmer - Sneaking' Sally Through the Alley.
Prompted by JamesN,
Robert's first UK solo album..............ably assisted by several members of Little Feat, and The Meters.............. as good today as it was back then.
1990 - Tidal...
Laura Shay - Blue Light Sessions.
Why? Well in my very humble opinion this is a truly wonderful piece of work. Not one duff track, from this very talented lady.
Go on, give it a listen on Tidal.

My fav album of theirs has always been The Completion Backward Principle.
As a live band they always put on a good show.

Saw them at Dingwalls in Camden many, many moons ago..................a great night, if slightly bonkers, (in a good way, though).
1982 - Original vinyl (promo - white label)...
Prompted by Ewe's The Tubes post.
The Kills - Ash & Ice.
The chemistry between Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince continues with this album.
Saw them at Leeds earlier this year................reassuringly LOUD!
my heros from my youth to the end and beyond
ICE MACHINE - LIVE
and
Photographic
The xx - first album
Yeah, like everything needs a reason.
C.
The Cult - Electric.
These amps go to "11" ........................need I say more? ........................LOUD.
Saw these at Leeds too ................ and it was!
Favourite Tull album. Probably the epitome of their brand of Folk Rock. Really hoping this one gets the full Expanded SW remix/ surround Hi Res treatment.
Last week I had two upgrades installed on my turntable. I feel I am now hearing this properly for the first time; a thick veil has been lifted, which I didn't even know was there. How marvellous this album is too.

SW remasters are always too sanitised for my taste. He sucks every inch of emotion from original "analogue" recording in my opinion. I much rather listen to the original album but each to their own.
Tony,
Steven Wilson remixes the albums from the original analog multitrack tapes so they are not simply remasters. I enjoy SW's work and don't find his mixes "sanitised" in any way. Sure, they will not sound as analog as the original vinyl which I also enjoy.
1969 - Original vinyl...
For some reason I felt like listening to "Oh, Well" and you know what happens next, don't you?
The White Stripes - Under Great White Northern Lights.
The Stripes on tour in Canada in 2007 ...................come back guys, we miss you.
Nighty night
Miranda Lambert - The Weight of These Wings. Tidal.
Trawling some new releases.
2CD , 24 tracks. quite a mix of country styles.
