2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Thats an interesting "new" title for the album, Jeff
Still half asleep after a long day yesterday .
Ryan Adams - "29" (2005)
Not played this for a while, in fact probably 20 years. It's certainly stood the test of time.
Bear's Den - "Islands" (2014)

Could not agree more. This is my favourite album from The The and gets frequently played because of that. Both Music and text stood the test of time, the text even better. I should give it a spin tonight.
I was reminded of it by Johnny Marr's excellent autiobiography, which I'm reading at the moment. I had it on vinyl and thought I had replaced it with CD, but hadn't, so I had to download it. It's the remaster, and unlike many, is very good.
Gomez - Bring It On.
Another blast from the past, not played this in ages.....................excellent, "bring it on" indeed.

This Sydney trio Hashshashin blend meditative eastern sounds with drone, prog and psychedelia... nice

Just because Tool played such good, heavy rock/metal.
1978 - Just fancied this video. Reason? Keith was still around.

Would have liked to have seen one night of this run of shows.
I had a slight falling out with her during her very first tour in the 70's. Long boring story.
Everything But The Girl - "Acoustic" (1992) it is Ben and Tracey and they be good, very good.

No reason needed for this one, its a 24/96 FLAC download from a recent remaster.
This is a wonderful new recording with Isabelle Faust and a small orchestra. Just great.
Joe Walsh - Analog Man - streaming in hi-res some great music. If only it wasn't so compressed - poor quality spoils a really good album.
Steve Miller Band - Fly Like an Eagle.
Why?
Just some good old fashioned rock, that's all.
Jerry Joseph & The Jackmormons - "Happy Book" disc 2 (2012)

Awesome record Jeff!
Karajan's direction is masterful, and with a superb cast, including Fischer-Dieskau as a young, sophisticated Wotan, this remains for me the best recording of this work. Sound is more than passable even against today's standards, and slightly improved through the hires transfer issued earlier this year. Played from thumbdrive.
Cheers,
